I would like to add some nice fish (especially ones with color) to my tank to liven it up more. As of now, i have Neons, Red Glow Zebras, Corydoras, Orange platy's. I have a 55 gallon tank, do not have real plants in yet, looking at getting a couple though. I would like all peacful (community) fish that tend to do well with all types. Any suggestions???

bolivian ram cichlid

make sure to get bolivians, they are hardier.

angels.....

Angels aren't usually a very 'colorful' addition, though...

Have you considered Badis? They look kinda like female bettas and they are labrynth fishes, but they have a different set of behaviors and I've heard of keeping them in groups in larger aquariums without incident.

Rainbow platies, purple danios, gouramis, kerri/blue tetras, sparrow or phoenix rasboras, or perhaps a lovely species of pleco, like the leopard frog, queen arabesque, or clown plec? All colorful fishes. And I agree that a pretty pair of bolivian rams would be nice as well.

blue rams would work as well as long as you have the correct water params, bolivians can adapt to higher ph and harder water better than blue rams can.

More Platies and/or Swordtails? Rosy Barbs, Cherry Barbs, and Dwarf Gouramis would color up things, as well.
