Looking to upgrade from Eheim 2217

Yeah, I kind of figured they just wanted you to spend more money, but then I thought maybe it would get clogged up and wouldn't be as effective (or even at all)
I think a little bleach wouldn't hurt along with a lot of 'SeaChem Safe' (powder version of prime.. . sort of).

After looking in to Substrat Pro, I think I want to buy more of it for the other 2 filters.
I might test it out first and see how it goes before I buy too much of it.

Definitely shop around. But, I have found Ken's fish has excellent proces on the eheim...filters and media.

Too late, I already ordered it from Amazon and should be here in a few hours.
:P

 I say you can't go wrong w/ what you have. The 2217 is a work horse. The 2075 works well in my setup but it's not my only filter. As to reusing the media, I would follow the first part & change out 1/2 yearly. "T"
