Hello all, I have a mushroom coral that has broken loose from the rock and is being washed around by the current in my tank. Is this creature doomed (and should I fish it out) or will it perhaps take root elsewhere (and can/should I help it along)? Thanks Harold

If you can provide it someplace with iittle current, it will attach itself. Some people use a cup--place a chunk of rock in the bottom, and place the mushroom on the rock, and place the cup in your tank where it's protected from the current. Should attach in a couple days.

Or, you can super glue it to a rock--the super glue gel is preferred, and will hold it in place until it can attach itself. With muchrooms, I prefer using the rock method, since there is seldom any wound that needs sealing.

just use the superglue and immediatly put back in tank. This is best as it will dissipate the heat from the chemical reaction of the glue setting.

Super Glue is biologically safe in a reeef system it was originally developed for use in human surgery.

don't worry it will settle were it wants to. i harvest mushrooms that break loose and give them away. i am losing friends i get so many. i am trying to figures a way to prepare them. deep fried mushrooms.

they have just about taken over my tank and I run 5 401 power heads in my tank.
