sorry, I didn't get to read thru all the posts. I was unemployed almost 2yrs till I decided to go into retail/sales (I owned a sushi restaurant till recession & doubling of rent put me out of biz, gave up working in corp world for restaurant biz so is very tough getting back into that mkt). it's close to home, they accepted my application even tho my credit rating was for the pits (I was able to explain that my biz caused my downfall). Due to my poor credit - once employers did a credit check all the jobs dried up. that is a big obstacle for some of us.
thank goodness for retail sales. been working since oct. hourly + commissions.
at least it's a job, & I'm not stuck on my pride where it's beneath my schooling & professional work experience & it's very challenging (I sell mens/womens hi end luxury clothing) but helps pays the bills, relieves family pressure, gives me a sense of self worth/self confidence & keeps my mind active.
