Losing fish

As for the cories, they stay on the bottom, with the cichlids above, running around the elevated rocks or caves. Until this tank, I've never had a problem with them getting picked on and still haven't seen them get picked on. I see the yellow lab chase the convict and the other way around, but thats it.
It still does not mean the combination is fine. Your cories will eventually meet their demise once the cichlids start harassing them.

Thanks for the advice Lupin. Like I said we've never had a problem with the combo before. I'll need to tell my dad about this too. Hes got a 55 with a pacu, blood parrots, and firemouths I think along with a school of corydoras (mght be confused about the cichlids, but hes got big ones anyway). Hes had this setup for about 5 years with no problems (which is partly why I added the corydoras) but I still don't want them picked to death. I guess I was under the assumption that with plenty of cover and bottom space they would be fine, with the cichlids mainly staying in the middle of the tank.
Thanks again Lupin
