:( Please please please help my fish I dont understand why my mollies are dieing. My water test are all good. They seem to be fine then one by one they start to shimmie at the bottom of the tank and are actually touching the gravel. Then about 1-2 days later they are dead. There is no visable parasites or anything,water temp is sitting at 80 and there is salt in the water. Could it be from to many water changes? I have a obsession with water changes and have been doing 30% water changes every other day since my tank cycled. The mollies also seem to have white poop, is this normal? Any ideas would help!
ammonia=0
nitrate=0
nitrite=15
hardness=50
alkalinity=80
ph=7.2-7.4

White poop could be internal parisites. (Tapeworms, ect.) I've never had to treat for it, so I'm not sure of how to diagnose it or treat it properly. If possible a picture might help, or a detailed description of the "poop".

You mentioned you have salt in the tank: How much? How often do you add it? is it table salt, aquarium salt, rock salt, ect? If it is table salt, look at the ingredients. I've read that Yellow Prussiate of Soda (it's a cyanide compound)which is used as an anti-caking agent in some table salt is bad for fish. Silicone dioxide, another anti-caking agent used in salt, should be fine.

I agree with you about your water paramaters, they look good.

Thanks for the response onyx.....the poop is real white but looks like cotton? Hope that makes sense...hard to get a pic of poop!
I am using aqaurium salt. 1tsp per 5 gallons= 4

Sorry to hear you are having added problems... though I'm not sure about the "shimmy" part, the stress those fish went through with the high ammonia exposure could still have a hand in their death, even though they did come through the cycle alive.
Hopefully someone else will have a better idea and a plan of attack for you.
