Ok where the hell do they go? I cant find one of my male swordtails. The tan is 55 gallons and has a lid. Go figure. Has anyone else lost a fish before and never found them? Tomorrow I have to do a weekly cleaining anyway ( one day later than usual). Anyway has this ever happened to you?

yes,i recently lost my baby betta but i found him doing a water change,he is in bad shape,i made a thread about it.

if you got a H.O.T style filter or Canister...check there... I've found them alive in there

same thing happened to me... found him 1 month later, but then his body was so disgusting looking that i needed help from family members to take him out!
his body was all weird, his finns disappeared, his eyes are just black circles...... disgusting, ugh.

that's why I count my fish every day, every 5 mins...

Lost fish update

Well he's a goner. I just did my weekly water change and gravel vac. No I dea where he is. Not in the filter, or under or in any structure. Im bummed. But the two males in the tank always swim around crazy trying to entice the females. Guess he was a little a premature lol. I meant in his passing for all you sick minds. lol. Thanks to all who responded.

Hello,

That happened to me before with a paradish fish. I looked every where, under shells, in the filter, on the floor, and no luck! But then when I was trying to catch some baby fish I lifted up a shell(I looked in it before) and there was a grose, grose, grose body. Also my Dwarf African jumped in the filter, but she was fine.
