I found this thread and was wondering the same- but my system isn't powerful at all.

I'm a house/dub/happy hardcore dj/producer.

i think 5-7 is an average.

Well I would like to know whom you've been talking too, and what breed of Betta they have. Rarely do you see 7-year-old bettas. Rarely do you even seen 5-year-old bettas. Even my "4-5 year average" is unscientific, unrealistic, and solely based on my experiences. To have a 5-year-old betta would be considered quite old, and again: a 6-7 year old betta is about unheard of.

anyone who spins is my hero!!! :D :D pr0gress, you are my hero. :bowing: i wanted to put turntables in the back of my car, and my boyfriend wrinkled his nose and called me a n00b.

but, what can ya do? anyway, do you have a radio station?

ok, for the ontopic part, i think it would be ok. for me, i have only seen fish get scared if something falls in the tank, or the desk they are on gts bumped really hard, or smacking their tank.

:D have fun sinning !

A friend of mine used to be in the voice-over industry. One of the studios he worked at had remodeled between his visits. The architect thought it would be cool to have a cichlid tank serve as the glass seperation between the booth and the studio proper. I can imagine what the specs were: 12"x72"x24" most likely, a fine view into the studio.

This went well for about a week. Then, suddenly, all the fish died. They were quickly replaced, only to have the new batch die in about a week. They stocked the tank once more before they figured out that the tremendous vibrations coming from the studio were killing the fish.

Ever since I heard that story, I have taken great pains to ensure that as little vibration from our home theater got to my tanks. :o
