Low light plant info???

using chems like that usually doesn't work and sooner or later, the whole thing crashes. using natural methods such as crushed coral or peat to either soften or harden the water works better.

Well, I believe I have been doing this very routine for almost 1.5 years and I do it on all my tanks(7 total). I have been keeping fish for about 7 years but it really didn't become an addiction until probably 2.5 years ago. To be honest the one major thing I have learned is never buy fish from walmart!!!! Knock on wood, but that is the only time I ever lost an entire tank was when I introduced a diseased fish from walmart. Which happened about 6 months into my fish keeping.

I always read up on things before I try it and am very cautious so I do not lose or harm my fish. My fish are like some peoples dog, they would ride in my truck with me if it were possible.

Thanks for the concern but after 1.5 years it would have already happened.

I agree with Cory Keeper but if it's working for you, kudos. If it ain't broke don't fix it. :)

that is why you QT, I lost a good number of fish due to that very thing.

Your telling me stuff I already know. Like I said, it happened in the first six months. 1 of my 7 tanks is a 29 gal. QT tank. I don't care if my new fish is coming from a world renowned breeder. He will be in the QT tank for 1 month!

Well, this thread turned into a disaster. Haha:wall:

lol titansfever.. ___ happens

Let me know your ph of the tap water once its been out for atleast 24hrs

Also whats your hardness out the tap?

LOL, I'll put some in a glass and test it tomorrow night.

GH? it is 12 or 120 ppm

KH??? I need to get a new test kit, my other one is old and I've heard they can give false results if they have been stored for a while.

I'll probably start a new thread since this one kinda got sidetracked, but I'll post in this one tomorrow night and let you know.

Thanks
Jamie
