low light plants doing poorly

Is this wierd? I have about 3wpg and co2 in my tank. I just, just started to add flourish to my tank.

All of my high light plants are doing splendedly, but my java fern isn't. I have two of them. Some of the leaves browned fairly quickly, I pruned those. Now, the tips of many of the leaves are going clear. If I remember, this is a sign of a lack of a certain nutriant, right? I could go down to my car, get my plant book and find the answer now. But its cold. Anyone want to offer advice?

Iid say with that much light, your plants are taking in the nutrients very quickly. You may be right, but dont go on my word just yet because im honestly not entirely sure, but ya, that would be my guess too.........

You gotta be kidding me!!!!!!!! How cold can it be in So. Cal.?????!!!!???
Java Fern can look kind of crappy until it gets established..........and even then it can brown off in spots and look shabby.
With good lighting, you will probably need to start bringing up your macros to N=10 (via KNO3) and P=1.0.

Just an average El Nino year, getting about 30 inches of rain a month (FYI 13 inches is our average YEARLY rain). And you know, record low temps, record high snow falls, record floods, and landslides. So it was cold last night.

I should get myself a nutrient test kit and see what my phosphorus is at. More fish should help the nitrogen rate. Added five fish this week; two pearl gouramis tuesday, three rasboras yesterday. I have a few more to add, which should be done in the next week or two.
