i think weve all got one of those drawers in the house, where all the little odds n ends seem to end up. well this 55g low tech set up is my planted tank equivilent, rescape another tank, pruning, buy something and the portions where larger than expected. it all ended up in here!
the set up is simple: 55g
2 t5HO'S
dual fermentation tanks for co2
bio-wheel 350 filtration
flourish excell 3/week
now im thinking its time to do an actual planned scape on this thing

lol thanks its just been one of those things thats come together on its own.really wanting to tear it down and do something more planned out with it now that i have a good idea of what this set up is capable of

would like to have some RCS but theres actually a pair of Ctenopoma in there so the shrimp wouldnt last long. as it is they snack on the otto's every now and then

id like for the tank to have more flow visually, when i look at it now i see 3 parts the various stem plants on the left, driftwood and its plants center, swords to the right. ive got a nice stump with a very heavy root system that i can place to one end or the other and slope the substrate then replant more naturaly in regard to water depth

Looks awesome! Be sure to post pics after the rescape... can't wait to see it!

Lol, your accident/junk drawer looks better than my "show" tank. Darn all the light and CO2 and stuff I'm gonna have to do. My wife is gonna shoot me yet.

Your wife has problems with your hobby too... I've found that by adding things when she isn't around helps. Its alot easier for her to accept the finished project (another tank), than the process that gets there (buckets and towels and hoses and lights and cords....)
