It has already been said in this thread and I’ll just reiterate… If you are looking to lower your pH because you have or want fish X and its bio says it needs pH X then you are better off in nearly all cases (but do tell us what you are dealing with so we can rule out whether or not you are in a minority situation) just leaving your chemistry alone and assimilating the fish to your water.
Now if you are looking to breed that is slightly different, but don’t just assume that pH is the end all answer. Often you will have to reduce the total hardness of your water to accommodate their breeding needs, not just their fondness for more acidity.
