yeah, I hear you. I got the one I have now used and it's so scratched up... guess I just have new glass lust.
not all used tanks are scratched. there are a few scratches on my 120 but only when you get close. the rest are like brand new. i know its not answering your question but still......

My 110 I bought new cost me probably double or more of what my 75 and 90 cost me. I was able to get each of them for $100 and they included stands and all kinds of other equipment.
LOL, new glass lust is like new car lust. Someone other than you is going to scratch it and you're going to be mad as hell.
haha yeah... what kills me about the 20 I have now, is that it fell into my lap in a scratched condition, but then I scratched it even more cleaning it. really let myself down on that one. the thing looks like antique tupperware in some spots... and since it's not a full tank, above the water line is just constant glare. I'm a little worried about the added weight, but a 30 long, even used, would be so much better...
besides, I have to break this set up down very soon anyway, because there is just way too much stone in the tank... I realized today doing a water change that I really don't have as much water as I want.

Just keep your eyes looking. Places have sales on and off and like Mgamer said, the used ones come in pretty cheap. Don't jump on it because it is used. Jump on it because it is used and it is a good deal. Many folk who exit the hobby early after starting seem to want every penny back that they sunk into it.
