I'm buying an established reef tank from someone local/ebay.

72 gallon bow front tank.
Shiny black wood stand,
2 penguin bio wheel filter systems,
1 water flow system.
150 to 250 lbs of live rock
complete bottom full of live cured sand. from bahamas

He has broken the tank down and this is the message that was sent to me:

The tank is broken down and ready to go.The live rock is in 2 heavy duty garbage cans lined with plastic. SO you will only need to add a little water, maybe nto any salt at all.

It's been about 10 years since I've done salt setups.

Is this a problem for the LR to be in a Garbage can for a week before I pick it up?

Thanks,
Jim

yea hopefully most the bacteria will survive on the rock and if u can get at least a small amount of live sand to see d the sand bed the water adds some bacteria ull want but not enough to risk using water thats sat for that long. id recommend reef crystals thats what i use at home and what we use at my store. also id recommend getting the rock to ur house and in clean running water asap. the longer it sits the worse things can turn out.
