I don't get it. I take every precaution to ensure that the "jumpers" are contained into the tank...but I have lost two fish since I put the eggcrate top on my tank. THe only holes in the cover are squares I removed in the corners because my lights wont fit on the top if I don't. Where they get through I don't know. I really try to be careful with them so they can't get out. Any one else have this kind of luck. This is two wrasses in 6 months...and both were after the installation of the eggcrate. (And just in case your wondering the squares are very small and the color of the plastic is white).:wall:

Sheesh, sorry to hear this. I swear there is a full moon or something. I saw some deer screening the other day at Lowes. It has large holes and is a plastic mesh, maybe if you put it on top of the eggcrate in a different direction it will help without blocking more light?

I found it when looking for plastic type mesh for the Koralia. Came in a large roll in the landscaping section.

I had two escape (one did it twice, caught him in the act the first time, not so lucky the second time). The second one jumped about a month after the first made his second escape. Don't know how they got out, but they found a way. When did they jump? Mine jumped at night, I happened to be sleeping when the first one made his first attempt to escape. Nothing like waking up to a jumping fish in the middle of the night (tank in bedroom). I think I slept through the other 2 escapes. My yellow coris come up and out when I feed them flake food, caught one in the air the other day. Good thing for him because it is a long fall from the top of my 150. Now I only open up the lid a little ways when feeding flakes.

Sorry to hear about that, I know they are big time jumpers. I have a sixline that likes to jump. I use a full canopy, so it only jumps from the tank to my internal overflows, he lives in there for however long, sometimes months and I either fish him out or he jumps out on his own. I don't know if you are in to the idea of a canopy, but it may be an option to look into. The sreening might work as well, IDK, it sound like a good idea. I think plastic window screening(tight mesh) would not allow enough light penetration over long term, maybe just one layer would work. Good luck, I hope you can find something that works for you.
