Lucky Bamboo in Tank?

Hello,
I have a 38 g tank with an oranda and fan tail. I was looking at some tank photos on this site and others. I noticed in one photo what looked to be lucky bamboo. Is it a plant suitable for tanks? I have a beautiful, large bamboo which I am sure I could divide and add to my tank.

Submerged lucky bamboo, like other Dracaena, will linger for several weeks or months, then die. However, it does well with the roots submerged and the stem and leaves above the water level; besides being an attractive arrangement, it makes the plant an effective nitrogenous waste sponge. I have a similar setup in one of my turtle tanks, with a peace lily rather than lucky bamboo.

You can use it in your tank for periods of time, then let it air for a week or 2 in a couple inches of water. I have a 5gal on my desk with 2 stems growing emersed that I used to have in my 150g for a few weeks at a time.

Interesting. Thank you. It may actually be too tall, I've had it for several years. It has a wonderful root system. I rescued it for $1.99 at K-Mart on a clearance shelf.
