Wait, how long does something take to rot then? I've had these same bamboo plants in my aquarium for a year now, and they are extremely green and show absolutly no singes of rotting. They are completely submerged, they'd need to grow 6 inches before a leaf hit the top.
They are slow growing, but all I've done is shoved them into the gravel at the bottom of my tank and they've been living with no problems.
These definitely are the same plants in the OP picture though, so what's going on here?
