Made the switch...Cichlids to Tropical

Won't it look strange having that big tank with all those tiny fish??? You should have stuck with cichlids bc tropical large tanks with all those 3 inch or less fish look ridiculous.

Thats your opinion.

I had a total of 9 cichlids in there up to a week ago:
2 Green Severums
2 Gold Severums
1 Nicaraguenses
1 Green Terror
1 Synspilium
1 Blood Parrot
1 Firemouth

Ranging from 4 inches to 8 inches.
All they did when I was home was sit in one spot waiting for food.
All they did when I was gone was destory the tank I had spent days
decorating.
Any other activity resulted in each other chasing each other and mouth fighting.
Now that's ridiculous!!!!!

Now I have a bunch of colorful, active fish swimming around everywhere.
Very peaceful and very attractive to watch.
It's made the biggest difference in my tank.

I appreciate your thoughts on the matter at hand.
But my post was for tropical suggestions.
So please keep it at that.

Thanks.

Here is two shots of the tank.
The stand and canopy are home built and not stained/painted yet.
Still trying to decide on floor and wall color's for the den before we choose a color for the tank.

Congo Tetras. No doubt in my mind. A school of like 30 of those would be...wow. Stunning.

I think it is going to look awesome.

I think a group of cardinals would look great.

Just my .02, but you should get a school of USD cats! They make great top-dwellers and a school of perhaps ten of them would make such an amazing and oddball addition!

OMG that tank is my dream! It's going to look fantastic with a huge schooling group. I love Rasboras, but I think you have been given some other great options. Nice work!

Thats awsome.

I've always wanted one like that. WITH small fish! :)

I think it'll look great with anything from assorted fish to one big school.

Keep the pics comming. And maybe even a video when you get it stocked.

Add about 8 more panda's, and another 8 of another cory. 2 schools of corys would be awesome in that tank. Then add another 10 cherry barbs, and another 10 black neons, and get about 20 cardinals, 10 rasboras, and maybe 16 rummy nose.

Very nice set up!
