LG if there are more people that want to play but cannot due to the game size, then one of them can take my place. If not, and it's just a hypothetical question, then I still definitely want to play. I don't want to ruin the game for anyone....

Un, actually I don't have you down as ever saying you wanted in did I miss you?
So, I have 2 that say yes and 2 that say no...I need to know what the majority think because I do have others that want in. I'm not going to sent them a reply asking if they would like a back up role if most do not agree with it, and I'm not going to send them a "maybe we can do this" message either. It has been done in other games, and I personally do not see what is wrong with it. NO I don't think it should become a normal thing for the game, but in a alias game it's kinda different then others. If a person UD's doesn't really IMO effect if they are innocent or evil, since both roles have UDed in plenty of games, but if most do not think it would work out then I wont do it. I just need to know what others think first and before I send a message to those that have responded wanting in.

Kash is right in that we need to stop letting UDers play the game, at least keep them out 3 or 4 straight then let them back in and if it happens again then lifetime ban.
Wiz is somewhat correct but anyone that would assume the new player is innocent isn't playing the game.
UD replacement can only work if its the same exact name being used and only if the UD happens in the 1st 2 day cycles...Any later into the game and being able to read them would be impossible without a trail.

I do agree after night 2 it would be difficult for someone to take over a role..especially if there is actually a lot of posting, they would have to go back and read the other persons thoughts and try to at least start off with the same thoughts.
I don't know if it is good idea or not, I just know it has been done a couple times although I will admit as a player in the game it was a bit confusing. It really doesn't matter to me if we do it or not, I just don't want to do it if most feel it is a bad thing, but at the same time if there are others that want to play and they are willing to be a "back up" if something would happen to come up for another player it wouldn't hurt the other players as bad. I am really not tooo worried about UDs in this game, I think the ones signed up are not big UDers.

another option would be to have a hybrid game. if we've got more players than aliases then some players could play without an alias. just a thought.
While I agree with you statement about not really playing the game by assuming a new player was innocent, it would most likely happen in some players minds. Add to that the fact that most innocents look scummier than the scum from their posts and it can be problematic.
Yes, if the new player were using the same name it could help and only then in the first couple of game days. ( Due to different posting styles and for the benefit of voting record etc.

I was going to post that I really don't mind using my own log in to play. Even if others are using aliases.
By all means, unless it alters the game, give my alias to someone else that wants to play and I will use my own log in. ( besides, I spent a lot of effort on my avatar for this game.)
I don't mind a UDer being replaced after night 1. Any further into the game I think it would screw the town up.
If more than 20 people want to play, let them all play from the start. I don't like using an alias anyway. I don't even try to disguise my game. So one other player can have my alias.
Alias or not matters little to me. I almost can guarantee I will screw up the logon at some point.
