Mafia 101 - Blarney Castle: Return of the Leprechauns - Game Thread

Fozzy, you seem to have missed my question about O3T and thier slip/statment. What do you think about that. You must have some thoughts after following along for a while.

J I'm having trouble finding exactly the question in...question lol. But...at this point here are my thoughts..

Why did Dawg change his vote? Its very early on for somebody to me making moves and that one simply smells overt to me. Like murder maybe.

As far as OT3, sure what he said may have simply been common knowledge or it could have been inside scum knowledge, but at this point he certainly smells scummy, I follow drug interdiction reasoning on this one...the person acting most awkward is hot.

I'm back at home and don't see much to add at this point. I am getting pretty interested in the interaction around Fozzybear though. Muppets and bad joke aside.

I asked Fozzy a few pretty direct questions that largely went unanswered. When I pointed out to Fozzy that he had not answered, he came back with this post:

This post sort of touches the questions, but never really comes out and answers them.

Then Kash says she wants to hear the answer to my original question.

Then Wiz says he wants the answer. Wiz states that Fozzy "danced around the issue" which could be in reference to the post of Fozzy's that I quoted.

So...
Fozzy: who do you find more scummy for their actions, Dawg or O3T. I understand that your style is to use metaphor and flowery language, but a direct answer here would be helpful. also, a brief explanation for your answer would be lovely.

Kash: when you called for Fozzy to answer my original question, had you missed the post that I quoted above or were you calling for clarification of that post?

Wiz: is the post I quoted what you referred to as Fozzy "dancing around" the question? What do you think of Fozzy so far overall?

I've looked and looked at this...I've been more or less working under the assumption that nobody knows who anybody else's role is but their own. But I guess that communicating players would know who is and isn't on their team. now, what is interesting to me is that since the "slip up" OT3 has been sitting in the corner sucking his thumb and watching us tie the noose. This should be easily explainable from his perspective, but now he's acting guilty.

I Vote to lynch O3T

Here, just to be clear that this conversation wasn't held anywhere near the scum den (unless the thread itself is the scum den), here are the series of posts that finally drew my vote on O3T.

From where I'm sitting I think that lynching JB really does give the scum the win tonight, who better to take out than the one person who's actually made on of their team-mates?

I certainly do hope to be lynched tonight because once you know what role I play it will become obvious for the remaining townies what needs to be done, and I'd rather have a skilled player like JB still in the game to make those moves than myself. I can see that nobody is taking to you as a viable suspect. So, assuming we don't get you lynched the best I can do is cast as much doubt on you as possible and try to redirect the town from voting down a player I see as innocent to lynching one I see as scum, isn't that what a good townie does?

"it is 50% possibility that there was a turn." Wrong: (now keep in mind that these are the raw stats, not considering that the shamrocks were issued not at random but by an intelligent and guaranteed innocent player which changes the initial stat set.) If there are 2 scum and 7 innocents then there is a 28% chance that it will go onto scum and a 72% chance it lands on an innocent. 50% chance that the coin toss renders it effective leaves us with a 14% chance that we turn a scum into a goodie, a 36% chance that we turned a goodie into a baddie and a 50% chance that it did nothing. So yeah...you mean to tell me that a 36% probability isn't a small chance? That's not even scientifically viable probability, you've got to be 50% and up for it to not count as more or less random. For calculation's sake you have the best odd's of considering the shamrock to be a mute point and the very worst assuming that its turned a baddie good, unless the people who used it had made a baddie, in which case the odds jump based on the degree of their certainty. I.E. If they're 100% positive it was a baddie we've got a 50% chance the baddie has been turned good, regardless, it is statistically improbable that we now have 3 baddies and even more so that we now have 1, if one were trying to be logical they would be operating on the assumption that the shamrock was a dud.

Now you are trying to confuse the town. The shamrock either went through or it didn't. It either went to scum or an innocent.

You are contradicting yourself here. You claim that both you and JB are innocent yet if we lynch JB we lose. On the other hand we should lynch you instead. That doesn't add up to say that lynching one innocent will cost us the game but we can still win if we lynch another innocent.

After reading back through that I realized that the reason I had for finally lynching O3T was his response to questioning, although Wiz's wasn't the same it was no better. This is the one decent vote I've made this game, so excuse me for attempting to replicate it.

How is putting things in exact numerical terms confusing? again, raise your hand if you've gotten a diploma.

I'm not contradicting myself, I do believe that both me and JB are innocent, yet I do not KNOW about JB, I KNOW about myself. Now that being said, the strength of my hunch about you vs. JB and my doubts at my own ability to really effect change in this game has me thinking it would be a greater benefit to the innocent townies to loose me, (somebody they don't currently trust and so probably won't utilize) and realize the truth of my statements than to loose a player like JB. Its not one innocent for another, as you have all thoroughly pointed out, its one skilled player that I believe is innocent for another less skilled innocent player, with the added benefit of the certainty that my death would bring to the following conversations. Lynching a player as strong as JB I think would cost us the game, I don't believe that loosing me will have the same effect especially since by killing me ya'll would be swallowing a triple barbed treble hook with a shiner on it for bait. Its because it would be such an obvious flaw to attack me for scum that I think its so funny that all of you are talking about how scummy I am and then voting for JB because he's more dangerous than me. Then telling me that I'm contradicting myself for thinking it would be a greater benefit to the town for me to go down and JB to stay in?

you guys do realize that now if you lynch JB or me and either of us turn out innocent you've all painted targets on your heads right? oh yeah btw...watch everybody vote for driver now

The Wizard, Fozzy doesn't have big teeth, but since there isn't anything better to do he will work on sharpening them on The Wizard's leg. Now Since Fozzy is tired of typing in 3rd person he is going to type in 1st like a normal person, Fozzy would encourage The Wizard to do the same.

In the words of first person shooters everywhere "umadbro?"

See, I was told earlier in the game that the townies should be eagerly inquiring about each other to flush out the leps, I was also told that ambiguity gets people killed. So my point is simple, why are you so mad that I'm asking you why you called yourself scum? I heard your answer but I didn't hear you acknowledge your slip until after a couple defensive posts. See, I saw the slip and thought that maybe it was something, maybe it wasn't, and that I'd ask you about it and judge its relevance by your response to the accusation. Feel free to call me noobish confused scum all you like...also feel free to link me up a post of me calling myself scum, but you had no reason to think of me as scum before i accused you, now you're all hot to trot that I am? See, the only person I could think of trying to get a townie killed for thinking they're a lep would be a lep, most innocents would want that person to simply not waste their vote, or worse get them killed. If you were innocent and had no reason to defend yourself then why wouldn't you answer my question and be on about your day since nobody else seems to be agreeing with me (a mistake in my opinion), why would it be important to you that now I am suddenly scum despite the fact that even if I was I'm such a noob that I should be at the rock bottom of any good player's priority list?

LOL just watch me get eaten by leps on the way home next nightfall, then you'll know.

I was reading back through and picked up on this on a 15th pass. Anybody notice that immediately after this Wiz goes on to post everything JB has said in game and then vote for JB because "i'm not a big enough threat" (author's paraphrase) The phrase "told you so" comes to mind, did you remember that since I'm such a noob I should be at the rock bottom of your priority list? and that from this point on you CAN'T vote for me because you know I'm innocent and that vote would incriminate the snot out of you? C'mon Wiz, you said I'd need some big teeth for this, I'm chewing and chewing, lets see that big tough experienced vote. My little baby teeth are getting tired.

makes me sad that many of you have self esteem issues....try a card game version of this game as originally played...instead of one with a remote self esteem improvement program as you folk seem to need...
