Mafia #20 - Pirates of the Carribean the Play

Well I was hoping for more action tonight. I'll check in before work.

I think, LC, and HN have some splainin' to do!
Um JM, any reason you left Mad off that list? Could it be because you already know what his role is?
I might ask the same of Judge about you...

Wow it got quiet! I'll bet the Pirate chat is hopping huh? Rb, JM, Mad... are we bugging you so much that you need to hide out? Come out and play.
Feel free to ask away... It's halftime of the Bears/Vikings game right now, but I plan on logging back on after the game for awhile.

No specific questions. I would like to see your take, suspects, and analysis on the night's events though. I ran at Beth hard and I readily admit & regret it. You seem to have driven the point home and sealed her fate late today though. Her posting today was actually much more innocent looking than it was this weekend. Unfortunately, once I got off of work there was no way to do a good analysis of everything before night fell. I've re-read everything since and want to see your input before I put my vote on you.

Be my guest.

Interesting that you seem to have took my post as a negative towards you when I was actually wondering if you had been an investigation. In fact the last I believe I listed my leanings on you it was as thinking you're innocent. I only mentioned you in particular to JM because she only listed men that had voted for Beth.

Wow, I was sure Beth was pirate, due to her slip and her general defense. I'm sorry Beth, I completely had you pegged wrong...

And I'm still rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I'll post an analysis when I can read the posts that took place last night without my eyes glazing over.

The current count of living players left:
Innocents: 7-9
Pirates: 5-7
Thief: 1

Dead: Mg - innocent
Beth - innocent

Ok so it looks like I need to make a game ruling again.. I'm just wondering why oh why all this garbage has to happen on my first game as a moderator vs when RB or ICE or anyone else mods a game???

Brains2/Rb's post
judge...maybe it is your sig....

Game Rule in Question
10) Moderators who are players may not use any of their special abilities that are not available to a normal board user to make a case within the game. This includes any members activity status or online status. This includes your chat rooms guys. Play honest."
Betwen LG's and HN's and LadyG's posts were not quoted as it was this one that basically asked me to make a ruling.
Hmm, she has a point there. Up to Clown of course.

Then here are several posts before and after the aforementioned incident
bad ju-ju...changing avatars during the game....all kinds of plots can be achieved...

RB's Brains2 Post happened here

That was me...I was changing the password on the account from the previous user, and just couldn't help making a post....

:grinyes:

Mee-Mee.....!!!!!

Welcome back to the games!

Errr..I wasn't playing as brains2 last game, or in any game. I wouldn't have been as polite as that player was. I have to admit, they have style, though.

:)

It takes a lot for a Mod not to make a post in the game sometimes, especially with the lack of creative content being provided by 2/3's of the players.

While it is self admitted by RB that he had logged in as Brains2 please note the blue highlighted portion of the rules text. It specifically states to "make a case within the game". I don't feel that Bob made a case against JM using that logon. He may have tried to make a case against JM under his own Logon after the fact which is allowable per the rules. Under his own account I have not seen that he was copying someones online status into the game, or stating he saw their last activity as xyz, or that he saw her PMing the moderator so that must make her a pirate etc.

My ruling is that rule #10 was not broken in this instance.

With regard to Beth, now that she's revealed as innocent, it's easy to say she looked more innocent of late...problem is, the damage was already done by then.

As far as you not having time to do any sort of analysis, your 1st post today was nearly 2 hours before nightfall, and an hour or so before nightfall you reaffirmed to Beth that you still thought she was guilty. So I'm not sure why you're saying she was seeming more innocent to you now.

With regard to stronger suspects, I mentioned earlier today (later in Day 1) that rb was starting to look more pirate, based on his claimed random vote for Judge, all while calling LG a pirate in the same post. His more recent silence is reminiscent of when he was lead vampire in the vamp wave.

another person of interest:

LChap: Went after folks who were on Beth early and claimed it was a train, yet he hopped on Beth late. Even after hopping on, he seemed to stick with the train assessment, but said that the pirates were lynching one of their own. Two problems with this: 1) People always bring up the 'sacrificial lamb', but in 20 waves, there's never been one 2) Tossing a teammate under the bus early on Day 1, isn't a very sound strategy - this is a numbers game. Almost looks like he could have been setting things in place for Day 2.
