Then on Ice's I was mafia and some other mafia and townies voted off the Don...the game ended. Then this game, Amanda gets kicked early, then Grins and Clown quitting! Thanks Cl...I would like to see you come up with a new game to mod. Quit bashing mods when you have no idea what it is like to be one. :silly:

Cory, give me a break! :wall: Rb has modded plenty of these and I am sure he thought this through. I donnt think he expected Lchap to reveal the new info in the middle of the game.

As for the UD/ role assignment, there wasn't any rules broken. You may disagree, but then so be it. Sometimes a call has to be made and it is ridiculous to think I would put it up for a vote.

The UD of the Doc falls into a different catagory for me. They UD'd because of their lack of participation/vote. The Town got a bum deal from it and I didn't reassign the role. About a third of you PM'd or posted in the thread thinking I should have "secretly" reassigned the role.

As for the Detective, I will state what happened, since several of you have made up your minds and my explanation will not change anything. I am sure each Game Mod would of handled things differently if in a similar situation.

I check the thread/site every weekday morning before going to work. The Detective wanted to leave the game for reasons not necessary to go into. I told them I would UD them at nightfall. I ran a random number generator on the remaining innocents...and Lchap was selected. I sent him a quick PM and left for work.

I got home a bit late, had an e-mail from the original player that they wanted to stay in the game and I said yes. Sent Lchap a PM to let him know what was going on and I was working on a solution.

I started a quick review of the almost 300 daytime posts. Lchap was obviously well on his way to hanging himself with your votes. You treated him like anybody else who comes out as a power role for the innocents.

I sent Lchap a PM letting him know I would take him out of the game as an Innocent. I rolled the night. That's it.

Roles do occassionally get reassigned in these games. It is a fact. You can't figure in all possible combintions of events and not all of them require any announcements.

Sorry that some of you feel you got "screwed", though I am positive some townies would have the same feeling if I UD'd the Detective without a replacement as the Doc had gone night one.

I still work at my old fart age. Maybe if it had been the weekend I could have handled it differently, but there wasn't anyway for me to stay home on a week day and to have done things differently and it was too close to nightfall to to review and work in another scenario.

IMO, this sounds like a reasonable explanation. I know I wasnt in the game and I can see why everyone is getting frustrated. In fact a while ago I was very upset about a certain mods actions (it was rb in fact) and I am sure a few of you remember this, but I was contemplating whether or not I would play rbs games again. But I realized that these games are fun and that is is just a game, and then modding made me realize how much pressure it is making decisions like that. When Beth as doc had to UD I had a hard time ddeiding whther or not the role would be assigned. I even added PRs in the middle of the game, anyways I am rambling and really just wanted to through in my support for rb. He made the call, deal with it! :)

Since the UD wasn't though I think once the role was removed and reassigned it shouldn't have gone back even though the person decided to return to the game.

Just MO as a Mod.

I don't hate RB and I'm sure in time I'll probably return to play but I think just need to sit out a while.

I for one would be very sad if him or Ice didn't come back to the game, they are great to play with (you to Grins:)).

Unfortunately temperatures rise, at some points feelings/pride are hurt and some just need to step back, recoup, and come back full force.

I also am not upset at RB, I can understand the feelings of the players that quit, if they had investigated and thought they had the Detective...but I also understand why RB did what he did, as I said I think he did what he felt best at the time...this is why I would not be able to Mod a game, not sure how I would handle these situations (that and I'm just nuts:lipssealedsmilie:). I respect all the Mods decisions, I may not always agree...but everyone handles things differently and if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be playing...so my kudos to ALL those who have and will Mod!

They had not investigated the Detective.

We didn't investigate and find the Det. But LC outed himself. If LC had been lying and was never the Det then none of this would have mattered. RBs night fall post was the tell so we emailed LC and asked what the deal was. When he verified our thought thats when we quit in protest.

If the roles that was removed wasn't given back everything would have been dandy. Blues deciding to come back should have been to a normal townie and not the Det. But because the Det was about to be lynched we felt it unfair to remove his role and give it back to Blue.

To be honest, this is the part that bugs me and makes me confident that calling the game was the right thing to do. If anything should not happen, it is discussing the on going game by active players with some that is out of the game. Period.

In the thread yes....but I also had PMs/e-mails stating it Lady G that led to my decision.
