Mafia 42: Assassin in the Palace (The Play)

So far, Z stands out to me the most:

First vote, for a low poster. Good strategy for the assassin. Many stated previously they didn't think the assassin would start a train, and this is a safe vote to make, as many suspect low posters.

Three votes at this point, especially with retractions; is not a fatality. Seems to me like Z is trying to put the bug in people's ears to get rid of SOMEBODY early, to the assassin, wouldn't really matter who that somebody was, and it doesn't seem to matter to Z either.

Paying extremely close attention to the voting... this is what I would do too.

Choosing one person quickly with minimum discussion also gives good odds that it will be a guard who gets it... as evidenced by bkw.

As this is a LOT more reason than I have to suspect anyone else, I vote to lynch ZSandmann. Keep in mind that this is subject to change if something else comes up. I've still got others I'm looking at.

Ogre: I get the new job thing, but it seems he was the first to come up with making lists of 3 people (58). I agree with bkw when he said this would be a way to give the assassin info (62). Ogre stated this might not work in his original post on the subject, but went on to defend the idea later anyway (69). The yelling at the very beginning of the thread didn't help this any.

Mal: still a low poster, even after "waking up". And I'm not sure what to think of this story, as it was noted by others she was lurking earlier.

There's more, but mostly just hunches. Tomorrow's a long day with a short break, so I wanted to get it out there. Hope some of it helps, Z... sorry if I'm wrong. I probably won't be able to check back until 1p or so.

You either don't understand how this round works, or... well no or. This is not Mafia. The assassin is going to ride low and try to get us to give them information. Malbri was doing just that, and in this game we do not want a UD. By the time Malbri showed up they were to far along in the votes to get pulled out. Now by the statements you just made the assassin knows Malbri isn't the King. So therefore, Malbri is either a Guard or the assassin.

With one less person and still needing five votes to lynch today will be harder than yesterday. I suggest we lynch the person that jb has all but told the assassin is not the King.

I vote to lynch Malbri.

I vote to lynch Malbri.

How do you come to the conclusion that his statements show that Malbri is not the king? Am I missing something? Altho IMO she is def. a good candidate for the assassin.

All I can say is read is post, I don't want to say more. Explaining is not a good thing in this game. If we leave Malbri in and lynch someone else, then that eliminates two people from the assassins list of possible Kings.

true - apparently questions are not a good thing in this game style. :wall:

Well, maybe not being a long time Mafia veteran might be to my advantage- no old thinking habits to fall back into! LOL
I hate to just "eenie, meenie, miney, moe" - so will read EVERYTHING again this afternoon and try to come up with a vote.

Vote count thru post #126

Z(1) - JB(113)
JB(1) - Ice(115)
Mal(1) - Z(121)

No votes from: Dawg, LG, Mal, Noodles, Ogre

With 8 alive, it takes 5 votes to lynch...

I have to agree with this statement, and wont be around until later tonight, except maybe just to pop on before going into work, if I even get a chance to do that...so on that note, I vote to lynch Mal
Sorry Mal, you are a sweetie and all..but you do seem to be a good assassin candidate, and if you are not as Z pointed out if you stay and we lynch someone else well that gives the assassin another "known" non-king. So if you are in fact a guard instead of the assassin, I am sorry...but think of it as a sacrifice to save our king!

Well Z I don't know what you are refering to either. I also don't agree that if Mal is in fact not the king as you eluded to that we should lynch them. My thoughts at first were that it would be so easy for the assassin to figure out who was the king. All but one person playing this game knows who the king is. We can talk about whomever we want and mislead as much as we want in this game and only one person will not know if the guards are lying. The assassin has no idea if the guards are misleading them.

The difference in this game versus other setups is that the good guys need to lie in this game to get the assassin off of the kings trail. Instead of the other way around. Again...The assassin has no idea if the guards are misleading them. If the assassin takes us all at our word and we are misleading, then the assassin will not figure out who the king is without some luck.

I am not quiteready to vote for you yet but you are on my list. If I don't see anything else better I will be voting for you.
