Mafia 65: Masons and Mafia (Game Thread)

so, who hasn't posted yet? It would suck if half the people ud in the first day.

Dawg, there's no communication going on right now. So unless JL and FF planned this whole thing out during the pregame (unlikely) then what you're saying doesn't make sense.

Good point. I'm just wondering where FF heard that statement from JL because it's clearly not in this thread. It had to come from somewhere?? I don't think it was planned...I think it was a screw up.

Dawg, you're kicking awfully hard at FF and I can't really see why. From what I can tell, FF is being his typical, spastic self. He posts before he really thinks it through, then he has to repost to clarify, then he changes his mind, etc. But from what he's posted, nothing has struck me as exceptionally scummy. In fact, in his own little way, I think he's trying to help the town. His posts are more like last game, when he was innocent, rather than just throwing a bunch of stuff out there to purposely confuse, like he did the game before when he was mafia. You kicking so hard at him for his typical play (especially since it's how he played the last game as innocent) is sending up scum alerts in my head.

I'm also confused when you ask him if he's communicating outside...as I understand it, neither mafia nor masons can talk for day 1. So who would he be talking to/planning with?

For now, unless something better comes along...

I vote to lynch Dawg.

They were able to communicate prior to the game. I have no problem with your vote but I do have a problem with you not being able to see FF's screw up. It seems so clear to me. JL said something and FF posted that JL was thinking something totally different. I'm wondering where that thought came from because...again...it didn't come from this thread but it came from somewhere.

Here it is again...

darn, too late to edit, add this to my previous post plz.

and JL going all out to say that the mafia wont try to stat a train on someone they know is innocent. After all we can never forget the chat b4 game bit, can we?

and again FF has totally side stepped the issue of where this actually came from. He has yet to answer this even though I've asked 3 or 4 times for him to clarify. Nothing JL said even remotely leads one to believe what FF states JL is saying. I'm not going to harp on it any more but my vote will stay where it is until FF comes up with a logical explanation.

I'm also wondering if JL has any thoughts on what FF says about JL.

Got a better choice Lab?

I quoted jpaps post and I thought I put out my thought pretty clearly. Jpap stated that to lynch someone it would take a "huge train". That statement is false. It will take over 50% of the vote.

Today it will take 8 votes to lynch someone. It could come down to a close race between two players.

Now there is the whole spread the votes idea, which is exactly what the mafia will be doing. My guess is that many players will wait to vote and many will want it to just be 72 hour days.

Took a while but i found it.

I would like to note that Dawg has done almost nothing but try to defend JL by trying to get me voted off.

Been wondering how this format is going to affect the way we play.. what to watch for.. how not to get snowed by others.. and so on.

Mafia (5 Communicating) -- 33 percent of the players being scum is a high ratio when other game formats are closer to 25 percent evil vs. 75 percent good. As usual, the mafia know who all the innocents are, but at least this time they can't investigate us and half their hit candidates are self-destructing. Of the other 10 players, they can't tell Masons from Townies at first so their early hits are very risky for them. If they target the wrong person, they die instead. This being the case, I would expect the mafia's "safest" approach will be to try getting the town to lynch townies and masons alike.... and to hold off on sending their hits in until we've managed to narrow the list down for them. The first few days, they'll likely focus more on (1) proposing lynch targets in the thread and (2) following the rest of us onto innocent lynch candidates, rather than choosing their own hit targets. All other leads being equal (between masons/town), their straight odds are 50/50 on hits... while lynches are 100% certain. Since they can pretty much kill us at will later on by submitting as many hit targets as they want on any given day, delaying their hits in the early phase of this game won't hurt them.

Masons (5 Communicating) -- These are a communicating innocent team so they know the role of 4 teammates. The remaining 10 players are either good or evil. Masons need to be careful they don't tip the others off by revealing their associations in the thread (obviously working together/distancing/etc.), or... the mafia will notice this and kill them.... or the townies will think them scummy and lynch them by mistake.

Townies (5 NonCommunicating) -- The least informed group in the bunch, as they know no one else's role. So all other 14 player's roles are up for grabs. Townies need to be careful how we read/interpret the usual scum-tells in the thread this round. Those "suspects" could actually be masons instead of mafia... much like when innocents get killed for giving off a "townie PR vibe."

Actually, I asked the same question and am interested as well in the answer.... I find it even more interesting that FF responded to my post that was posted minutes before this one.... why are you avoiding this one, FF?

Took a while but i found it.

So FF you're saying from this...

Got a better choice Lab?

You got this...

and JL going all out to say that the mafia wont try to stat a train on someone they know is innocent. After all we can never forget the chat b4 game bit, can we?

Can you splain that one to me?? This is what I'm trying to figure out. Where the heck did that second idea come from...:wall:...where did JL say that??? He didn't!!

I would like to note that Dawg has done almost nothing but try to defend JL by trying to get me voted off.

How am I defending JL?? When you turn up mafia JL will be my next vote.

Of course the mafia can just decide to hit everyone, then if they die we still die too, cept innocents. Or is that against the rules?

So FF you're saying from this...

You got this...

Can you splain that one to me?? This is what I'm trying to figure out. Where the heck did that second idea come from...:wall:...where did JL say that??? He didn't!!

How am I defending JL?? When you turn up mafia JL will be my next vote.

He implied it, and its spelled EXPLAIN :headshake2:

For the seconed one, i noted that he was saying what the mafia would do and u overeacted and came in with a newb first meaningful post.
Quote by Dawg:
"Well FF is at it again.
Congates you can read.
How do you know this is a train JL has started? Do you plan to jump on?
I have stated b4 that it may have been a feeble attemt at starting a train on him.
Can you quote the post where JL says the mafia won't try to start a train on someone they know is innocent?? I don't see it posted before your post that claims he said that.
Done that

Why are you clarifying that WE don't know if JPap is innocent? Where did you claim JPap was innocent before? And now you clarify what JL said but how could you ever interpret what JL said in his posts as "the mafia won't try to start a train on someone they know is innocent"
I assumed that he was innocent (finished with that too) and that Jl was evil.

Did someone tell you, you screwed up or did you figure that out on your own?

For now unless something better comes along

I vote to lynch FF"

All in all, your very first real post was all about trying to kill me. That sounds like a plan for mafia. "Kill the village idiot, he cant do squat about it and will dig his own grave."

I think that you are either mafia of the village idiot, or just skimming my posts and trying build a feeble argument on them. The foundation for you argument sucks, therefor the argument will not last.
