Mafia #7 -- The Play

I got jumped all over for being defensive in my first game, so I stopped worrying about wild accusations with no proof. It's pretty pointless to try to argue when there is nothing there to begin with =) If I tell ya'll I am innocent, I will most likely get called a liar, so really I am damned if I do, damned if I don't and so I'd rather just pay attention to the details and see if I can catch anyone doing anything suspicious since the only person I can trust is myself and I know that I am most definitely not mafia.

Not much else to do/say at this point. I apparently inherited a convenience store to run, so less time I can spend with my goldfish pond =/ I would love an eclair, or a dozen from Mee-Mee's bakery =) If anyone needs a snack, gas, or even a Slurpee, feel free to stop by my S-Mart Convenience Store!

Hasn't the above line been used by Mafia under pressure before? And not only that but I also agree that her repetition of being busy in the thread seems like something Mafia would do to coverup their underground activities. And saying that you're not gonna say you're innocent then saying you're not Mafia in the same sentence just seems kinda contradictory. My gut feelings usually don't kick in until the game is underway, but this to me is sending off some alarm bells. Therefore, I vote to lynch Swayde.

Subject to change if a more promising candidate appears before nightfall.

Others I found peculiar were DD and JPappy.

Did anyone else see jl lurking for about 30 minutes and he never posted? That's why I wish everyone was invisible, one less thing for me to have to overanalyze.

I am not going to go the invisible route, I have explained this before. No reason to change now. I will not go invisible and if people want to catch me in a PM so be it. Everytime I have been mafia I have posted on a forum unrelated to this site. I have not PM'ed any of my co-mafia in the past. The judgemax PM technic will also catch power roles. So I am not going to go invisible.

"Lurking without posting" - is that a hanging offense?

I really have nothing to add to the thread right now. I am not going to role play.

Also, does anyone have trouble reading the "colored" posts?

yeah, i agree ice. I have re-read and i guess things just didnt click exactly before. I see your point about swayde, and it is a valid one indeed. It is like she is making it a point to make sure everyone knows she wont be around much this game.

I would consider a vote for swayde, but im going to hold off for a short time just to make sure no one who deserves a vote more pops up.

You seem to have quickly rethought things and back peddled a bit since seeing your name in bold. Kinda suspicious to me. Vote stands. Of course open to change if a solid case is made for someone else.

Like when I posted repeatedly about the 10v10 or 50-50 or whatever else I said for (i think it was mad or even z in last game) about me saying the same thing over and over again..okay, and yes resay is a word...

Swayde wakes up early after a long day of moving into a new town. She hurries to get ready to open the convenience store on the corner she recently purchased so she can meet the demands of the rush-to-work crowd. She hopes that business will be good enough that she can support her goldfish habit. She's heard about Mee-Mee's world famous eclairs and can't wait to try one.

There's not much to go on so far. I know it will most likely make me look suspicious, but I did warn ya'll in the sign-up thread that I will not be able to post nearly as much as I have in the past, nor at all hours of the day. I'm going to do my best though to help the town out. I'd hate to see all of my hard earned money from the store taken away by crooks aka mafia =)

I was looking at Sway's posts more closely and noticed a discrepency in her roleplay. Not much I know but they say liars get caught when they start lying about pointless things as a side effect of being nervous.

For now I vote to lynch Swayde,

I just didnt look very closely the first time around, and i didnt read all of the posts, more just skimmed. Now that i have had time, i have read over the posts, and thought about what was being said more, and i do believe that it is a valid point made by Ice.

Ok. I might be able to believe that even though the only time I "skimmed" was when I was mafia. Any suspicions of your own or just going with Ice's? Not that I disagree with his necessarily, but I think that the real townies need to keep looking and posting their own thoughts.

Jo the only ones that skim posts are mafia. They don't need to read posts, they know who is on their team and everyone else is fair game.

A townie wants to read read and then reread to make sure they don't vote off another townie.

my vote is bad, no one to vote for due to the dumb mafia slip ups (even though they dont always end up being mafia lol)

just got home guys, i've caught up for the most part, but im missing the reason why ice voted swayde?

agreeing with ice and saying it makes sense

sorry ice, i just didnt see the reason. I wasnt disagreeing with it. In my mind it makes sense, as if swayde isnt going to be around much then she wont be able to help the town much. I like the thinking, especially for a first vote. But i dont think that im ready to vote for swayde quite yet simply because of those reasons.

i should try to clarify, not so much completely caught my self up, just more skimmer over things and looked for votes and lists and what not. I saw the vote, and was just looking to get some clarification on the reasoning.

Actually, i skim a lot. I skim in almost all of the games, because i like to get caught up to what is currently happening as quickly as possible. Then when things slow down, i go back and read more deeply and analyze it myself.


I skimmed through to get caught caught up as quickly as possible, then i went back and re-read. After rereading it makes sense to me to have a swayde vote, at least more than anyone else at this time.

I've got to run out to the store with my brother now, as he needs to get a few things before hes off to college for the first time tomorrow morning. I should be back before too long though.
