Mafia #70: The Time Vortex

I thought so too, Rich. That's the game I thought of.... but it's the wrong year.

I vote to banish Jpappy.

:banhim:
Just a question about this post Kash you and Rich both thought of the KGB game. In this post you say "but it was the wrong year". In (I think it was Johns) post #673 is a post about the game, at the bottom it says it was the 1960's....not a specific year just the 60's, so how did you come up with it was the wrong year? The quote in the post wont carry over so I just put the post number.

I have been there and I didn't move, the town learns something even if you are innocent.

In the end it did end up pretty important what game we were in. It was day one, not much to go on, so I based my vote on someone who didn't think it was important to find out.

LMAO, yes...I thought of my post too and figured it would come up. I was getting on and going to look for others with the "code" words and intended to add my post also. Yes, it was a joke and I know it now looks very bad.

I'm sure you did.

Here's the lead in to that game...

The year is 1960. In North Alaska, a small settlement known as the Aquaria-Central prospect has been cut off from the outside world. Blinding blizzards means no-one may enter or leave the town- the weather has also frozen up and destroyed all means of communications out of the town.

One by one the town members have died mysterious deaths until now, only a handfull remain. Things look bad for the town and a smell of evil permeates the town.

There is a small hope for the townsfolk though. Each morning an amateur newspaper is delivered mysteriously to all residents in the town. The origin of the paper, and who is publishing it, is unknown at this moment. The newspaper may contain hints to help the townsfolk.

One man in the town knows the possible roles of the town but does not know who has each of these roles. The last mayor of the town on his deathbed secretly sent a message to one of the townsfolk detailing exactly what evil faced the town. He promoted this town member as his heir to be the new mayor of the town until all evil is defeated.

I will begin sending out PMs notifying people of their roles shortly. Please wait until you see "DAY 1 BEGINS" before you start posting.

I'm all for an LG vs Mad race for the lynch.

I vote to lynch LG

I have been suspecting her all through this game and the most recent discovery of Fish being a possible code word and only 3 people having used the word puts her at the top for me. Especially since she may be the RAT.
That is obviously fine, but I'm not convinced about Mad yet. In the quote you have of his where he used the word "fish" it was him saying how Z was trying to "fish" for scum...they weren't actually his words he was saying what someone else said. They were actually Hooked's words.

Here's the lead in to that game...
And here is what was posted in #673, copy and pasted directly...which were the rules for the KGB

You are a KGB spy.

You have been sent to the town to try and locate the source of a rumour that the Americans have found a deadly weapon buried in a local gold mine.

There are 5 of you. KGB Agent Rat (leader), KGB Agent Gerbil (assassin), KGB Agent Mole(assassin), KGB Mouse (investigator), KGB Agent Hamster (investigator).

However due to the town's communications being down and the fear that you are being followed by CIA agents- *YOU MAY NOT COMMUNICATE IN PRIVATE*. All conversation must take place on the game forum.

You can try to send each other coded messages in the main forum. The town do not know your code names so you can try and incorporate that into your coded communications with each other. Most of the town also do not expect spies to be in their midst.

You have also been taught the following code words that you may hide in your communications with each other:

SNOW = kill (lynch)
FISH = kill (assassinate)
NORTH = investigate
COLD WATER = I am on this mission
BLIZZARD = Need advice

Try to sound normal whilst communicating with each other- the code words have been designed to blend with the game's forum and theme (1960's Alaska).

I'll have to check that out I didn't see it that way but I will look into it.

"The year IS 1960"...makes me think the year IS 1960 which is also in the 1960's ;)
:raspberry: so can I use my blond card here and give JB another reason LMAO!

Here's what Mad was referring to in HN's post...

ZSandmann- HOOT theory... I can't believe that it not only didn't get called out, but a couple seem to place enough stock into it to go with it. They look scummier than Z right now, but I have to believe that the "theory" was floated for observation.

Here's what Mad said...

In the exchange, HN discredits Z's HOOT theory, but ends by saying that he believes that the HOOT theory may have been Z tossing it out there to fish for scum.

Mad said fish in his own words. HN didn't use fish in his statement. He said "floated for observation".
