Mafia #71 - The Infection

I am just not letting you know. The only thing the town will learn from infects and vaccinations are if it goes badly. You won't find out anything if they are successful or if they didn't try to infect / vaccinate anyone.
:banhim:

So I think it would be best to assume they got their turn, only other option is they didn't try...really can't see that. Yes, it has happened but I think it would be safer to believe they got their turn since nothing was mentioned, it couldn't of been a "bad" turn. So IF we started with only 2 I would think we have 2 still, and on the same team.

Zooming back with a sick feeling in his stomach cause he knows he's too late he wonders what lies in wait. As the clouds part Chill examines the moonlit scene below. Two dead. Well at least FF was a pharmarep. Can't help but wonder what the hillbilly was thinking. He takes a deep drink from his flask and heads back toward town.

The first person he meets is G, and he's very glad to see her, but she asks why DD. Just cause she was at the bottom of the post count he replies. It hurts a little as he watches the wariness in her eyes. He takes a swig from his flask and as it burns down his throat he feels his lip curl up at the corner...

"Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?

We can't go on together
With suspicious minds"

he laughs and offers her the flask

G see's Chill walking her way...relief and doubt both go through her mind. He tells her his reason for choosing Doll, and she wants to believe him. Although, she knows she should trust no one at this point. Laughing lightly as he recites the words of an old Elvis song to her. She has to remind herself, he knows how she can melt in his words, and even though she puts on a "tough" outside she is just a big ol' sap in reality.

I think it's safe to assume that whoever was infected would use their turn. Would be very silly not to, especially this early in the game. Since Dag had said it would likely be 1 pharma/1 infected if less than 14 players (iirc) then I'm going to assume that FF was the lone pharma. As to why he posted so scummy, I don't know. Fortunately, it totally worked in the town's favor.

As far as the hillbilly taking the shot, I agree it probably wasn't the best idea with as many innocents as are out there this early in the game. Maybe they got overexcited.

Chill's lone vote (voting for the lowest poster) is a bit suspicious. He's also not posted much in the way of helping the town...maybe he needs to put down the flask for a while. Chill, if you had to decide between me and FF on night 1, which way would your vote have fallen and why?

I'm glad we got rid of the/a pharma rep, but it hurts to lose Pappy. I also got to thinking about Chill, but it's not so much his vote on DD that gets to me, it's more the bs about looking at low posters. I'll try to clarify.
The waitress points over to Judge sitting alone in her booth reading her paper, glad to see another familiar face and a lovely one at that, Chill strolls over to invite her to join them

Seems she's been away for a while too, hard to say what's going on in town, no one seems to be saying much other than making the observation that nobody saying much. Might as well talk about the weather for all the good that will do. Just as well to sit back relax and watch events unfold.

Hey Judge would you like a little stiffener for your coffee?
Ok... I can dig role playing. It's not my style, but to each his own. But why is it that all the role playing posts always seem to be centered around chatting up the ladies? Care to add a little game related substance to your role playing, Chill? I love the bolded line. At the time that Chill posted this, the Pap/LG thing had come up, and FF was starting to be looked at pretty heavily. But no mention of either of these things. He did take the time and energy however, to talk about people talking about people who aren't talking. All while talking a lot himself, but saying very little. (Yes, Zaffy... I can see the irony of me talking about people talking about people talking about people not talking. :silly:)

Chill mulls over the days events in his mind. Not much to go on. Sure was good to see G and Judge again. Judge asked if he had any opinions and he could only confess he didn't really have a clue. The agitation level in the town seems to be rising though maybe something will come out soon. Zaffy seems very concerned about the water but Chill just feels the reassuring weight in his inside pocket and thinks he really has no intention of drinking any water anytime soon.

He decides to wander around and see what going on. He stops by the local store to refill his flask, and as an afterthought buys a new pair of pants which he leaves dangling on a park bench. in case Zaffy feels the need to cover up. Poor sod probably left his wallet with his pants, and tinfoil hats don't seem to be selling very well.

He ambles off in no particular direction, just looking around for lurkers. It occurs to him that the people to worry about may be keeping a low profile until they can grow their numbers.
The bolded line could be a subtle way to get people looking into low posters. Chill is not a low poster, so it seems like he's trying to clear himself without saying so much. What do you think about your "low poster" theory given the night's events, Chill? By that theory I'm next on your list for scum, I guess...

Chill looks at his watch which is still on Newfoundland time - freakin time zones- Atlantic, Eastern- what's that 2 hours till nightfall? Frustrated in that he's not getting a guilty read from those that are posting he wonders what to do? Urgent matters call him away to the real world and he's not sure he can get back by nightfall. Not wanting to UD he struggles with where to lay his vote? His money is on the low posters. But it's just a guess really. Going to have to take a swing in the dark. With any luck he could get back before night fall and change his vote if better info comes to light.
Again he slips this thinking in. Again, a long post with no real information at all.

Again he throws this thought out there. And this was after nightfall, after we knew FF was scum and a high poster.

Chill seems to be trying to clear the high posters. Fact is, he's not that far up on the list himself. At this point, I'm the low poster with 7, Chill has 12. High poster has 47. The other thing, is that I've given up on looking to post count for a scum tell. What I like to look at more is the ratio of posting to helpful content. Chill's isn't very good IMO.

So, to sum up; here's my questions:
1. What's up with suspecting low posters and being in that group yourself?
2. What do you think about low posters now? Am I your top suspect?
3. If you don't see anything going on, why don't you ask a question or two?

Leaving G and walking towards town he passes a few residents. Ice making his list and checking it twice. Then Lab who questions his motives and suggests he put away his flask. She wonders who he would have picked between her and FF. Taking another swig he smiles cause she ain't going to like the answer. Having underestimated FF's stupiity he read him wrong and would have placed the vote on Lab. Course with two teams FF's guilt doesn't prove Lab's innocence. No he doesn't think he'll be putting away his flask anytime soon.

Oh yeah the agitation level has definitely gone up. Cause the next person he meets is J who has questions of his own - building a house of cards. Wondering if he's next. Accusing Chill of not trying to help and not saying anything of substance. Well Chill saw nothing of substance to comment on and the only help he could give was his one thought. Which was stated clear and simple not slipped in. If he wasn't gettting a read from the posters then a non-poster could be scum. Not slipped in stated - it's kind of ironic that he's acused of not helping but when he shares his thoughts he's suspect. As to the arguement that he was low poster himself well that being the case he wouldn't put out a low poster theory and draw attention to himself if he had anything to hide.

As to are you next my friend? Yesterday you were tied with DD on post count but a review of your posts gave Chill the feeling you were at least trying to be helpful so you were close but this ain't horseshoes. Course today's a whole new day things likely changed last night, are you scum today? Too soon to tell. You're certainly fiestier but whether that's guilt or paranoia only time will tell.

I'm just wondering something about the hillbilly, do you guys think we should say who we would want them to take out, or not take out? Not sure it would be helpful at this point since I really have no read on anyone...but should we voice our opinions of what we think?

Zaff has me worried with his after night posts to me, maybe he did actually read it wrong (it happens) but to me it more like he was trying to draw others to "see" it his way and twist the meaning.

Chill and his lone vote doesn't sit well, I thought maybe he would say something about he didn't really see a case against either of the two up for lynching and wasn't comfortable with a vote there or something on those lines, but he kept to the "low posters" thing.

Lab-her "infected" posts still do not sit well with me, not really a big thing I know but something about it just bugs me.

It isn't much at all on anyone but these are who have made me feel the worst about them.

Doll and Jmax are sticking out to me also....I know Doll doesn't ever post much but Jmax talked about how she has soooo much free time now, would of expected more from her.
