Mr. Palmer is awaiting nightfall with all the others, and he declines the beer being passed around, as he wants to be alert this nightfall. Wizand JB are already looking tipsy, and Chill is never far from a drink, so who knows what could happen if others start it. He immedietly thinks of the song "Monster Mash"and chukles. He gets some coke out so he can better wake up, and because it clears his nose of alergies. He continues to wait patiently for Bala to wake up.
That explains a lot.
