Mafia #75... Assassins in the Palace - The Play

Again, to you...how does it matter the way the mod picked? This is just one of those questions that really does nothing in the game. I'm trying to think if I ever played the game where the Mod actually said they hand picked (during the the game when asked).

Well if he hand picked the roles there are certain people I doubt he would have picked. Narrows the field somewhat on possible assassins. I'm trying to see why you don't think that information could help?

Right, they will be either guard or assassin...just wondering why you chose to say to find out if they are guard.

I just think if you are going to name someone and add the # of posts they made as a reason to vote them...you should at least have the # correct.

I couldn't say who I would pick, that is why I don't do it as a mod. As a player, trying to figure out the Mods mind just makes for a bunch of back and forth, do nothing thoughts and confuses more then helps us. IMO

The odds are better they will be a guard.

You are less lazy than I.

Fair enough, we need something to talk about and I think we have confusion down pat.

I just don't see the point to it. I know many games before where we tried to figure who the mod would "hand pick". Just made things even more confusing, and we never were right in the end. OK, we could example: Do you think JB would pick FF, no because he would most likely get voted early, yes because he is someone know one would think he would pick. Do you think JB would pick Chill, yes because he is a good player and can "slide by", NO because he is a good player and others would pick him quickly. See for each player there is going to be a reason for and a reason against it. IMO, it just does nothing to try and figure out what they were thinking when picking roles.
Plus then the Mod comes on and answers you with NO, I didn't hand pick...well then we still end up with players going back and forth on rather the mod is telling the truth or actually did hand pick and just not telling us.
It's just one of those questions I see as pointless.

Are there some people that you likely wouldn't pick? Doesn't this give you a narrower field to focus on for possible assassins

Well do you have a more productive topic for conversation? At this point some back and forth could only help; while it might confuse some it could also lead to a slip on the assassin's part. We can't learn anything if noone is talking.

Well I don't think he would lie so if he says he didn't hand pick them this is a dead issue for me.

As for reasons to pick and not to pick, yes that's true, but my mind likes to weigh the probability of those choices and in some cases I'd be prepared to bet he didn't go a certain way. In a game with only one scum the value of picking the person no one would pick, doesn't outweigh the risk of why that person wouldn't be picked. OK I hurt my own head with that phrasing.

Really, no I can't say there is anyone I wouldn't pick. Unless someone had NEVER played before, in this set up they would be a person I wouldn't pick. Other then that, everyone is fair game IMO.

It's not productive though Chill. Yes, ppl need to talk.
