Well Kash my perspective would be if people are talking about possabilities then at least they are talking. If people aren't talking then I don't know what we're supposed to watch. Granted you take these possabilities with a grain of salt and yes the town can get carried away and run with things, but that's why I try to keep these things in context.
I'd also agree that sometimes it's the scum who puts these things out there but there's still benefit in drawing people out on these ideas to see if they give anything away. Evidence comes from conversation and if people want to talk I'm inclined to listen and ask questions.

That notion of "at least they are talking" is a double-edge sword, Chill. I've sat in many a scumden before where they all agreed to stay quiet on purpose, counting the moments until nightfall just letting the town's imagination run wild because it only increased their confusion. Trying to consider too many possibilities, theories, and what-ifs has cost the town the game many times.

Alright, TwoHobbies. If I characterized something wrong, I'm sorry about that. I quoted the posts I read as far back as I went and felt the context was skewed and the topic was getting off track. I'll go back further to see what I missed.

JB, I attacked Pir right from the get-go because his story just didn't add up, and his reasons for his actions made no sense. Besides, I was right, he wasn't the detective after all.
