FF asked repeatedly who each of us would have picked if we got the murderer role. Personally, I agree with Pappy's response already that it's a useless question.. that part about picking so-and-so for blah blah reason... and so on. It is a distracting or divertive WIFOM proposal that doesn't benefit the town at all if we give that too much of our attention. That said, I'll still answer the question now that I have time to write this all out.

I saw in the mafia/signup threads that the murderer needed to pick their 1st teammate and the ghost hunters needed to submit their first invest at game start. So yes, I had already looked over the growing player list while signups were still underway... with those selections in mind... in case I got one of those roles. That was something I wondered about myself while waiting for the game to start.

There are a lot of considerations to make and I already had some prospective names in mind. I hadn't yet made my final decision about the murder's choice, though, because when I got my PM, it wasn't necessary. Had it been necessary, Lady G would have received my PM within probably half an hour or less after she posted game on. (Mostly because I didn't intend to stay on the thread very late last night and I couldn't be sure how much time I would have the following day.) I also would have asked her to wait with my choice so no one could deduce my role based on eliminating who had not been to the thread yet... and so forth.

Fishfriend claims my first pick would have been Wizard. And Wizard's first pick would have been me. That I can tell you is not true from my perspective. As for Wizard's 1st choice? Even I don't know so you'll have to get that answer from him.

Had I gone with a vet with the same or more game skill than I have -- I would have probably decided on someone I felt would be more likely to read me in the game better than Wizard has in the past. I've been evil before when Wizard was innocent and I've (so far) been able to fool him. Not to mention the fact that once he's convinced himself that I'm probably innocent, he's helped me more in past games without realizing he was doing it while we were on opposite teams. If I felt a need at the time to minimize risk, I'd say either Chill or Pappy would make excellent choices despite the fact they're also likely to get investigated, and so on. I consider both of them to be better players than Wizard and I are put together. JB, Lab Rat, and Noods are also just about as strong as anyone else we have to choose from... and either of those 3 would be a heck of a lot of fun to conspire with against the town. Rich has an awesome sense of humor I really enjoy and has a no-nonsense, matter-of-fact style that would give me some clarity that I need. I tend to overthink this game too often, so he'd help me avoid doing that.

Had I gone with one of the newer players -- Bally or Haydn might have been a top choice, although Razzle or User would be just about as good at this if they're communicating with someone. I wouldn't actually mind conspiring with someone with less experience than I have. I've done a lot of that all along on both evil and innocent communicating boards. I will say I would probably not have chosen Fishfriend because I honestly don't think I'd have the patience it would take to rein him in all the time. It'd be just easier to kill him instead. Ninja would probably be the best choice of all because this being his first game he'd probably actually listen to my advice where others might not. Then if all else failed, I could easily turn against him and throw him under the bus if necessary.

Tactically speaking, therefore, there really isn't any short list of "go-to" names that I would naturally pick over the others. I believe I could work well as teammates with just about anyone else who signed up to play this game. No one really scares me that much and, IMO, no one would be unmanageable as a teammate for me.

I'm also just as likely to base critical choices like this on a pick taken from random.org.... because it's an even more obscure selection other players would find difficult to trace back to me.

Overall, I don't also don't think there are any bad choices the murderer could have made... depending on who that is.

It really was an absurd question. All anyone has to do is answer it however they want to.. as long as everything they say about whomever they wish is true... it gets us nowhere.

So yes. I did type all that out to prove to FF that his question was pointless. It was a colossal waste of my time and it benefitted nobody.

I've been thinking, maybe FF's question isn't so useless. It may not help now, but it may help sort out who is scum later in the game, when more connections can be drawn. Therefore, I have decided to answer it.

If I had been selected as the murderer, I would have picked JB for the simple reason that he has an uncanny ability to pick out when I'm scum.

When exactly do you think it will come in handy, Labby? Let's just say you're the murderer. So, a couple days from now, you're lynched and found out. Are we to assume that you told the truth when you named me? I don't see how it would at any point be helpful. It's something to talk about other than pizza toppings or favorite types of trees, but I still don't see it as helpful.

That being said, I'll play along. I would have picked Pappy. I don't think I've ever been on a team with him, and I think we'd be formidable together and have quite a bit of fun along the way.

First I want to get this out of the way.

Jb, you always suspect me on day 1. Put that aside and wait until I am through with my posting tonight. If you have questions, I will try to answer them as I go along.

Kashta is currently in the scum den( the bedroom) with her computer while I am out here. However, I have been away from her for as long as I have been away from the game so I cannot guarantee how long the different locations will remain in effect. (guess who wins with my time)

First of let us go back to the gunslinger game. I wanted to shoot FF right after he started posting. I didn't because if I had I would have had nothing else to go on from there. Also if I was wrong, the town would probably resurected me just so they could lynch me. (no offense FF) :thm:

I am getting the same feel about FF this game. (as my posts have shown)I don't think he was recruited, I think he is the murderer. This would explain his WIFOM posts trying to name those he feels would have been his choices. It was,IMO, an attempt to get the town to look at those he would feel most threatened by.

Originally, I was thinking throughout the day, that he may have turned his brother so that he could help him learn the game.

I no longer feel that way after reading his responses to Kashta's questions. His brother could not have helped him write the responses he gave. He turned somebody good.

Jb, you are the only one that has ever successfully controled him as evil. Not that you are the one turned just making observations.

He has also stated how much he admires LR and wants to be able to play like she does.

At any rate who he turned will be discovered as time goes on. There is, however, no doubt in my mind what his alignment is. I read him in the gunslinger game but did not act on it. I will not make that mistake again.

I vote to take the soul of FF.

If something else comes up that is better, then I will change if I get the chance before nightfall.

To the case at hand, even Kashta stated that she could not have answered her questions as succinctly as FF did. No way that I will believe that he wrote that post on his own.

You should stick to checking in before posting in the game thread. Your post everyone is saying was so well thought out and so succinct was in response to Kashta. (and trust me on this one, I guarantee she aint no him. )

This is why I am so certain of FF this time around. He responds with such a magnificent post I would challenge Mad, Ice, Dawg, or any of our top players to match it in the course of playing and being in the thread so much, yet he can't even remember which post is being referred to or who he used it to reply to. It was not written by FF.

The problem here, Wiz, is that if you look back through the chronology of the posts, the "him" FF is referring to is Hay, not Kash. Now the question I find myself asking is this: Is Wiz innocent and just so sure that FF is evil that he's blinded by it, or is he evil and just looking for anything he can to make FF look bad. In reality, FF doesn't need any help with that, Wiz... why push so hard? Your utter refusal to even consider that FF has the capability to write a cohesive post is worrisome to me. You're either evil and pushing too hard at a target that could be easily forgiven when he turns up innocent upon lynching; or you're innocent and have put the blinders on.

I vote to take Wizards soul. for getting people mixed up and for saying that you must be right this game cause you were right last game. Like I asked you in the GS game, do you know how to read? If so read the last paragraph of the post below. BTW it was posted over 6 hrs ago.

This has been bantered about all day. To be honest, IMO, the only way this would help the town would be for the murderer to come out and state truthfully who they would pick.

You stated that you would pick the best players, yet you have me at the top of your list.

IMO Pappy and chill to just mention a couple are much better than I am. you put top notch players at the bottom of your list, which makes me think you are trying to divert the towns attention to those you feel most threatened by.

Just to play along as others have done to appease you, my first two picks would be JB and Chill. What order? IDK. Why? They are good players, I was evil with Chill once before, I believe we won that one. JB, I have never been on a communicating team with him but think it would be fun.

You are right, I did miss which post Bally was referring to. Fact of the matter is, I have seen FF post this way in only 2 other games.

The RR game and the GS game. What was his alignment?

You say I was all finger pointy, I say I was calling him for what I have perceived as scummy posting.

Were I scum, in a format where we start with only 1 then add 1 in the course of D1 would I push so hard on FF?

I think not, it is too easy to sit back and let the town put their own choices up for lynching.

Personally I think I am a little better at this than to be so obvious on D1 but you are well within your rights to disagree and place your vote where you have.

Do I have blinders on? Quite possibly, I won't deny it. Especially in light of the fact that there hasn't been anything else to go on.

I have seen the town say it is just FF being FF. Enough of the excuses. FF has played more games than I have, we started in the same game and I took some time off for awhile. If I see posting that is distracting and wasting the towns time, especially on D1 when it is the hardest to nail scum, I am going to vote there.

Maybe I have pushed too hard, quite possibly because the town has a tendency to say it is just FF being FF.

How many times have we seen it said of him if he is scum he'll just get himself lynched? He didn't get lynched in the RR game.

I let him slide in the GS game thinking I could see his interactions with others and come back to him. As a result of that I made a wrong shot.

If I am wrong this time, it won't be the first time, and it won't be my last time.

When people start saying "If i was scum i would never do this" is usually proof they are indeed evil. I know i've done it when evil much more then when good.

I would have an easier time of believing you had improved you posting if it were consistent. However, when you post as you normally do, then come out with a few decent posts mixed in with more of your more characteristic type of posts, I don't buy it.
