Mafia 9: The Bloody Coup

Well, after that Sploke you are my top suspect. You should know by now not to say things like that.

Who have you pegged?

CL

LOL CL, that post was pure sarcasm...sorry to get your hopes up.

I wouldn't move jo up my list quite yet because it seems that whenever he is a suspect he becomes defensive...though usually it's when he is voted for...I will definitely be keeping an eye on his game play...

he moves up on mine because i only have 2 suspects as of right now, mee-mee was tops but after that post he moves to tops..

he's defensive because people have him on a few list..thats very fishy to me, we definitly need to keep him in our sights

i could understand if he got defensive after a few votes..but not when your names on a couple lists..i smell a rebel who hasn't showered in a week :grinyes:

My list of people to be watched, based on suspicion...

DC
Jo
Charlie
CL

This is a list of other people who need to be watched, but based on previous gameplay...

DD
mee-mee
Zsand
mad
ogre
KOTD

There, I've named 10 people...what are the odds that they are all innocent? or all rebels? :D

I have been one of the ones that before that has said that voting for nobody is bad and helps the mafia.

This variation is a little different. There are as many rebels as concerned citizens, but the rebels are two teams.

I think if as a country, we vote to lynch the President, the body guard is unable to protect them, but if the rebels hit the president, the body guard protects them.

This game is not about numbers, it is about keeping the President alive.

We need to be careful about our lynches.

I know I have voted for C_S (for role playing), but I would like to discus voting for nobody, at least this day one.

I think with a 50% chance of getting a rebel which are better odds than ever before, we should try to nail one right off the bat. After thinking about it, I don't think Ice would give us a total newb as a president, therefore the risk of lynching the pres will be low. And don't we need to learn from voting patterns to be able to determine who the rebel scumbags are? Sure we have the detective and his investigations, but the rebels can hit one a night and the other rebels will also be able to investigate one a night. I think we should vote, we just need to put a lot of thought into our votes.

My watch list:

Jo- for being defensive and throwing votes out almost carelessly.

Deputy-maybe he was tired but his posts didn't have much substance other than sublty claiming his innocence.

JL-maybe I'm way off base, but is that advice about a no-vote sound or does he have other motives?

After thinking about it, I don't think Ice would give us a total newb as a president, therefore the risk of lynching the pres will be low.

Ice's feelings shouldn't have anything to do with it - the assignments are supposed to be totally random, so feelings about "what he would give us" shouldn't really be a basis for any kind of voting system. I think this has been covered in about every game I've seen.

when have i not been defensive when votes or suspicion has been cast upon me? Isnt that the way the game is supposed to be played, or am i missing something?

What am i supposed to do when people say the suspect me... "oh thats good... id suspect me too"? ... doesnt make any sense. I do believe i found one jumping early in KOTD to be honest.

OK, those of you suggesting a no vote. Here are the problems against it.

1) No information gained. The Rebel Scum can sit back and enjoy a free day.

2) The game starts with 20. We lose one during the rebel attack. Now we're at 19 with 10 of them being rebel. All it takes is the rebel groups to go... hey, look at all these people voting for someone not on our team. The other rebel group does the same. Then we don't control the lynchings anymore. All we have is the bodyguard with his one shot.

No, we have to take the chance on getting a rebel tonight.

Personally, I think that they rebels haven't really said much at this point. There may be one or two that are out there, but most are probably laying back because they know that we like to jump on heavy posters.

I know this is a workday, but we've had two evenings (mostly) and here's some good players that have been very quiet.

JOhnLarson - always quiet though
Madcrawdad - normally, very post happy, but quiet
Zsand - several posts, but not much to them.
rbishop - he was VERY quiet the one time he played (as I remember it)

Yes, I recognize that this is very early, but odds are that two of these are rebel scum.

Also... to the detective. I would be careful with your investigations. I would suggest that you not investigate people that are probably going to be lynched or taken out by the rebels. The ones on the above list for example... at least until it becomes more obvious where they stand.

This does a couple of things.
1) It allows you to investigate that quiet group... putting the fear of being investigated into them so they will post more (allowing slip-ups)

2) It means your investigations will probably not be wasted as that player dies in the next days lynching.
