Mafia 93: Tank of Terror! Sign Up Thread

I'd settle for a permanent Mafia ban...

No. A break. But we should never make something permanent, people can change over time. I would agree to a summer long ban (like the self-imposed one I've got) or at most a 6 month ban, but he should be given a chance to show he's changed every so often.

I'm sorry guys, I didn't actually think I was good or anything at this, and I feel like a jerk for not making nightfalls. This will be my last post on this forum for quite some time, I didn't mean to offend anyone and hopefully I didn't mess up your games too much.

I don't hate you, but the mafia could have won this last game if you hadn't UD'd. I propose you take a break, as I am taking, and try again a while from now. I'm always willing to give second chances (even if I don't sound like it) and will willingly allow you into a game of mine so long as you have taken at least a month long break.

Vart, I don't want this to turn into another "What's wrong with Mafia?" thread, but when someone's had more chances than Lindsay Lohan, and still persists with the nonsense, it's time to break out the torches and pitchforks and send them packing.

We're all pals here, so you're right, it doesn't have to be permanent. Any so-called "breaks", though, had better be real and LONG....a month or three ain't cutting it.

Keep in mind that these breaks are just as much for those who like to play the game, and DO play the game when they sign up. Nothing drives me crazy like seeing someone either quit, UD or simply be a non-existent player, and then show up to yuk it up when the game is over...or just as bad, post a "Yabba Dabba Doo, I'm IN!" for the next game, and then pull the same nonsense. These folks are the reason that I rarely play Mafia anymore.

Unfortunately, when it gets to the point where other players can successfully predict that a particular player is more likely than not to flake during the game, it's time for that player to move along...for the good of the game, not because we don't like them.

I'm modding an upcoming game. UN won't be accepted as a player if he signs up because of his track record for UDing. When someone UDs, it's not just an annoyance for others. It changes the outcome of the game in play.

Think we could get a MOD to change his sign in name to Untimely_Death?

UN, the thing is it does suck when someone UD's (and things do happen sometimes that make it impossible I understand that), but when it happens pretty much every game...it makes it very hard for others. Kinda (not that this would happen) but say you were playing a football game the quarterback just quit in the middle of the game, no fun for anyone right.

I don't think a "life" ban is the way to go but yeah maybe a break. I actually enjoy having you in the game, when you do play and I would never hold anything from a GAME against someone in REAL life..but you have to understand why so many are so upset. I hope you do not take it that ppl don't like you as a person, it's just as a player you have hurt the game many times.

As a Mod it would be hard for me to single a person out and say they can not play my game, I just can't do that I would feel horrible. However I do expect anyone who signs up to play, because UD's effect the outcome and ruin the game.

Mad, I never said he shouldn't get a ban, but a life ban is overdoing it.... and trust me, I hate UDs too (it was MY game he UD'd in, after all) but I would never force him to never play mafia again. (Not a double negative)

^ I agree, Tirv. A permanent ban is probably too long. Any "break" needs to be real and LONG, though. Long enough for a person to get their business straight, and long enough for everyone else to forget why the person left in the first place.

I would agree one month is way to short. That is really only one game, but a permanant ban would seem a little harsh. I also agree that it should really be up to the game mod as to who would and wouldn't be allowed into there game.

I also don't really see how being allowed to mod a game counts as taking time off, but that's just my 2 cents.

All I did was sleep in, work at my job, and write nightfalls.... no playing the game, just watching it be played. I said I wouldn't play mafia until the end of summer (6 weeks or so to go) but not that I wouldn't mod my game here.... besides, it was such a good theme for AC I couldn't resist.

IMO it is up to the mod who can and cannot play. Everyone else has the option of not signing up if they see people on the list they would rather not play with...that being said I honestly would not allow someone with a track record like that to play in any of my games unless I see a change of behavior.
