Mafia 96 Who Are You? Game Thread

To get back to your post, Dun:
tsk, tsk... bleeding for information the obvious way right out in the open. could you trust my list if i gave it to you?

reasoning? simple! i'm a skeptical person. i don't give my trust away easy. those on my "list" just so happen to have even less of my trust. my likelies if you wish.

nope. no way. sorry. i'm the new guy. i'm the one that can use anything i can get. no way i'm just spitting out a bunch of names. uh uh... :shakehead:
Yes... I'm asking for information right out in the open. That's what we do when we don't have ulterior motives. It seems to me like you're playing with something to hide. The more I think about it, the more it bothers me but for now I'm willing to think you're an over zealous newbie with some acute paranoia happening. You're a smart guy, and your perspectives can help the town should you dain the time justified to share them.

No, I can't trust your list... obviously. But it can do one of two things: 1) show me something I may have missed that could be worth investigating; 2) give us some sort of a trail of breadcrumbs at a later date. You can never tell what's going to end up as important in ACville.

Yes but this is different. The strategy I'm talking about if laid out in plain sight is to easy to navigate around. Its really a simple strategy so I think you can all figure it out.

yep a scum was lynched and 2 non participating players killed themselves off by not voting.

THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE!

I was thinking the same thing then I see Dag added a list of his own. I have no idea how anyone can have a list after 1 day of banter.

As of this moment AAF is the only one that really sticks out as vote worthy and I'm not sure if its scum or just inexperience at this point.
I think "list" is a bit grandiose of a term at this point, but it seems a little odd to me that with all the talk that's happened, you can say that AAF is your only lead. That seems a bit off to me.

How the hell does anyone have a list? Is it based off who likes soup vs who likes meat vs who likes veggies?

Is it based on who voted where?

If its based on posts then you'll need to include posts with that list for each person because I sure haven't seen much to go on that is even close to vote worthy from Day 1. But this day I'm starting to wonder about all those who already want lists.

Yes. What better reason could there ever be than to lynch someone who doesn't like meat? They obviously can't be trusted...

How can I word this without giving away to much........ Don't think I can but ....

The Don and Mayor have a tough job. In the 1st few days do you choose players trying to build your team or trying to find players of the opposite side so you can try to take them out by swaying votes their way.

Its a bit harder for the Don to build their team because everyone is going to act innocent. But they could end up with a nice list of players to take down and by process of elimination know who is scum even if not in communication.

The Mayor on the other hand doesn't need to look for innocent players, they can just choose the best players and either find them scum or be able to communicate with them.

This early in the game it might be worth it lol....

Dun, I think I see the point you're making. And in a normal game, where numbers actually mattered I might even agree with you. But in this game it's not about numbers. It's not about finding "scum" it's about finding "the scum"... if you get my subtle nuance. Sharing who you think is acting scummy and why can only help the other townies have more perspectives to look at. At this point in the game, the scum are largely impotent. They may (although highly unlikely) have one hit, but they do not have enough votes to swing the vote their way. The more information we share now, can only help the town.

I disagree with you. Whichever team has the most communicating players is going to most likely win barring a lucky shot on one of the bosses.

At this point the scum have the numbers advantage. Since we have to assume no one knows who each other are minus the roles who have ONE investigation, how can there be an easy way to win that isn't just as easy (if not more) for the scum?

There's no RCing, if that had anything to do with it...and the only way to win is to kill the Don, if you are town. So what is this easy way to weed out the needle in the haystack?

In a normal setup yes this is the way to do it. But this is a hybrid of a 50/50 and team building game of sorts. No one knows who is there team mate, everyone that voted FF could be scum.

This game is pretty much going to be a crapshoot until teams start being built, then and only then will we be able to somewhat treat it as a normal setup.

Th

Except only those on the team will know that there is a team. Everyone else is left in the dark...so unless you think it is wise for someone on a team to make it known that they are by treating the game that way then I don't think we will ever be treating this game as a normal setup.

Its not about weeding out the needle in the haystack but if you pick up on something quick enough it might be as effective.

In a normal setup with communicating teams no one knows who is on that team except those on the team so how is it different?
