Mafia Games....

Darn it, I wanted 66!

Well John.. we could switch too. I'm easy... (oops)... or rather, I could be pursuaded to accept a bribe. (Dang.. that doesn't sound good either.)

Umm... Let me know if you want to mod your game sooner. (I'll just leave it at that.)

:lipssealedsmilie:

Thanks!

Mafia 65: Masons vs. the Mafia

4 communicating Masons
4 communicating Mafia
4 non-communicating Townies

Roles

4 Masons
Mason PM
You are a Mason. The other Masons are players B, C, and D. You know them all to be innocent.

Abilities:

  • Private Talk - You may talk to the other masons during the pregame, and for the first 24 hours of each game day (starting Day 2) in a private thread [link to be provided]. If you die, you will no longer be able to communicate with your team.

Win Condition: You win when all mafia are dead.

4 Mafia
Mafia PM
You are a Mafia Goon. Your partners in crime are players X, Y, and Z.

Abilities:

  • Private Talk - You may talk to your scum-buddies during the pregame, and for the first 24 hours of each game day (starting Day 2) in a private thread [link to be provided]. If you die, you will no longer be able to communicate with your team.
  • Day Kill - At any time during the day, you may send in a target for a kill. If your target is a mason, they will die. If your target is a townie, the attack will fail and you will die. You may target as many people as you want on any given day.

Win Condition: You win when at least 50% of all living players are mafia.

4 Townies
Townie PM
You are a Townie. The mafia has invaded your town, and you want them gone. You have no special abilities other than casting your vote.

Win Condition: You win when all mafia are dead.

***Important Notes***

1. This is a nightless set-up. Mafia kills may be conducted at any time during the day.

2. Voting will be different than most Mafia games played on AC:
  • A player may only be lynched once they have received a vote from a majority of the players. For example, if there are 12 living players, a single player must receive 7 votes in order to be lynched.
  • The length of any day will depend upon how long it takes for a single player to receive the majority of votes (and therefore be lynched).

3. Masons and Mafia will only be able to communicate during the pregame, and for the first 24 hours of a day (starting Day 2), in the private threads provided by me. At the 24 hour mark, I will post 'You may no longer talk,' in the private thread. Any violators will be mod-killed.
  • Upon their death, a player may no longer communicate with their team. Doing so may cause their team to forfeit the game.

4. As this game is slightly different than those normally played on AC, I'm including this link to a similar game on another site. Folks may wish to review for familiarity, ideas, etc. Masons and Mafia Game Link

Looking for 12 hardy souls....
If you play only one Mafia game this year, make it this one!

so when does the next game start?

I'll probably get the sign-up thread posted on Sunday night (2/28), and then if the slots fill up, assign roles the following Saturday (3/6) and start the game on Sunday (3/7). This allows a nearly 2 week break before the next game starts.

I realize that some folks are probably having mafia withdrawal already, but as we've found from previous experience, if we run too many games too closely together, interest wanes and posting suffers. It's better to have people really psyched to be playing (because they're not playing enough) versus being burned out from playing too much.

Those jonesing for their next fix of mafia might be interested in reading the previous game that Mafia 65: Masons and Mafia is based on. Note that the next game will be different, and reviewing the previous game may help you use those differences to your advantage.

Spoiler Alert: If you want to read the previous game without knowing the roles (scum vs. town) do NOT read the first post of the game (Post 0).
