Mafia Games....

Works for me. For those interested in my vampire game, who would rather have a ghost chat for the killed off innocents and who would rather have resurrections when someone UDs? I can't do both, but one or the other should be do-able without giving any team an advantage.

I don't see how you can resurrect players fairly:

* If an innocent UDs, do you simply bring back another innocent? Kind of gives the town an unfair advantage, as they now have a known innocent that they can trust.

* If a member of the scum team UDs, do you bring back a dead scum? Kind of pointless, as they'd be immediately lynched anyway.

* Can town PR's be resurrected? Doesn't seem fair to the scum team, if they can.

If the roles are not revealed when they UD then there isn't an issue though.

Sure there is... What about the roles of the resurrections before they were lynched or night-killed? Obviously you can't take a dead scum and put them on the innocent team, as they know who the scum team is. Resurrected scum would have to go back on the scum team.

Same goes with town PRs. If an investigative role is lynched, it's not fair to put them on the scum team as they may know other town PRs, which isn't fair to the town. It's not really fair to scum to put investigators back in as town, either. Scum killed the investigator fair-and-square.

Resurrections would work like this:

Only non-PR innocents can be resurrected. No townie PRs nor evil PRs could be resurrected since they would have extra knowledge not in the thread. If there are no dead townies when someone UDs then a resurrection is not possible that night. It would also not carry over to the next night, so the team of the UDer will just have to take that loss.

The non-PR innocent would be resurrected to whatever role the UDer had. If the person who UDs was innocent, the resurrected person will be an innocent. If the UDer was a townie PR or evil, the resurrected person will get that role. I will not announce the role of the UD. You will not be able to assume that the resurrection will be revived as an innocent.

Does that make sense? I think it's the fairest way to deal with UDs without giving either team an advantage. It also keeps interested players in the game. There is no benefit to UDing, but your teammates don't suffer from your UD either.

Surprisingly it does make sense. The UDer is basically passing his/her role on to the resurrected. Keeps it random and entertaining.

Actually I could see a way for scum to use your plan to their advantage...

Upon being issued my role, I notice that as scum, I'm paired with a player along the lines of I Love Mollies (ILM). Now even if ILM shows up at all on D1, I might still try asking him to UD by not voting. I can then night-kill Ice on N1, and have him fill my ILM-scum slot the next day...effectively hand-picking a better player for my team.

The town is now down a strong player. Scum have pitched a useless player, and replaced them with a strong player...scum team is now actually stronger through the UD.

I think it would be easier to just not give ILM a role at all if they signed up. I can't think of any other player who would even be in a similar position anyways. Everyone else who plays is good enough that they should probably feel offended if asked that.

I change my mind - the dead should stay dead.

even me? :D

I think you should start off dead and the town votes to bring you back each night and until you have enough votes, you can't post.

:flamed:
