Mafia Games....

Hey, well this is mine that I made up, I know its very basic but after labbys stratergy post and players needing to start playing more individually, I thought I would make a simplish one that people could join in on or build their game with. Let me know what is wrong with it or what could be improved. Thanks! Oh and nightfall would be very different times to usual (im in aus) so we would have to work out a time.


Mafia: Prison Nightmare.
At the high security AC prison, a few inmates are going rogue. They have come up with an elaborate plan to escape and cause havoc in ACville, but first, they must get past the Guards.

3 Prisoners (scum)

Hitman
Robber
Arsonist

These 3 prisoners are planning to escape, but first they must take out the guards to have any chance of escaping. They get to hit one guard (or PR) on every ODD nightfall. On every even nightfall, they get an investigation. The hitman gets one 50/50 hit/turn anytime during the game. They win when there is equal number of guards to prisoner ratio as that’s when they are capable of escaping. They can communicate.

Special Guards (PR’s)

Doctor – Can protect one person each nightfall from either the hit or the invest from the prisoners. They cannot protect themselves and can only protect each person a maximum of two times.
Detective – Gets to investigate one person per night fall.
Senior Guard – Has one special silver bullet that he can fire at anyone, whenever he/she likes during the game. He/she only gets one shot (kill).
The special guards can communicate.

The rest will be just normal guards who vote to reveal the intentions of other players each night fall.

The guards win when all of the 3 prisoners are eliminated.

RULES:
Everyone must vote to reveal the intentions of someone every nightfall in bold otherwise they will UD.
You can’t vote for no one or yourself.
Do not put your vote in your signature.
Whoever has the most votes will be eliminated from the game, if it’s a tie, I will randomly decide the person eliminated.
Everything stays in the game, no PMing people and setting up deals or alliances, or discussing issues in this game on other sites. The sole exception to this is the authorization by me for special role players to do so.
You can say whatever you want in the game, but you can't 'prove it' with my PM to you.
NO personal attacks, insults or jabs. This is a game, so have fun and don’t be a bully.

Order of events each nightfall:

Elimination (lynching)
Hitman/Senior Guard hit. (Or turn –Hitman).
Doctor’s protection
Prisoner’s hit/invest
Untimely deaths (UDs)

I like it overall, I think the one time chance of a turn balances well with the alternation between a hit and an invest for the evil team.

It may be better to have it that if the detective investigates the doctor and/or the senior guard then they can then be in communication. Otherwise, they are not communicating. When both the scum team and townie PR team are both communicating from the start, it makes it very difficult for the scum team to win, since the townie PRs know each other and won't accidentally vote each other out. Remember, the townie PR team has the backing of the town. Plus, then the detective has to figure out whether to find other townie PRs or look for evil with their invests.
 
Good point. I will make it so the detective has to find either one of those two in order to communicate and I will let the senior guard and doctor communicate from the start? would this be better?
 
I would have none of the townie PRs communicating at the start. The only way they get to communicate is if the det finds them individually.

new idea, how about a game that starts with 1 scum, and then they get a turn each night.....

Check out some of the vampire games, they were like this.

There are some serious issues with team building games like this though. we can always hammer out details to avoid them though.
