Now just to figure out how I hook it to the UFG, I believe I just stick the one end in the tube and leave the other one out...The end that has the thing on it to suck the water up, then the one that blows it out is outside the tube right?

LMAO!!! Ummm, I dunno....I just know I want to make it a RUGF...I will have to ask RB, I think he is the one who suggested it to me, and I want to do it so my gravel bed will be a big bio-filter I think is what he called it?

Well i use my power head on the one to suck the stuff through the UGF. i thought this was a RUGF. so i would say the sucking end goes in the pipe then place the return in the tank.

Well, I'm pretty sure that is what I am suppose to do, but I think I am going to wait and do that part tomorrow, mainly b/c I want to get a good water change in first.

LOL, so when you responded to this thread did you think you were going to end up walking me through every step of the process?:perv:

Thanks so much for all your help, you have been very wonderful and patient with me!!!

For a RUGF you need to attach the "out" tube to the UGF. For a conventional UGF you attach the "in" tube to the UGF.

RUGF pushes the water down the tubes and up through the gravel. Instead of pulling the water up through the tubes and down through the gravel. This traps most of the detritus in the filter not the gravel.

Ok, so the part that blows the water back into the tank goes in the tube?

yea thats what V said and no i didnt think that i would be doing this but i dont mind at all i love to help other people. its only the right thing to. and hey i think that some day youll be able to help me with something i dont know. thats why we are all on this site to help one another right?

Ok, I'm off here for now...thanks so much for all your help!! I'll post pics once I get going tomorrow :)
