Does anyone here have a Magnum 220?.....i kow they have been discontinued....but I am able to get a NEW one at a very low price.......

What do you think of the 220? I have an Emperor 280 and want to use the 220 for a little extra mechanical cleaning/Polishing.
 
i don't "own" one but i talked to a friend of mine who does.

"yeah there excellent filters, all marineland products are. but make sure that you keep up with it and keep it clean, becuase it won't prime otherwise"

for some reason marineland products don't prime well. if you can get it for a good price, than go for it. you can never have to much filteration.
 
I don't know what size it is, but my DH has a Magnum on his 55 gal and he's been quite happy with it. There was only one time he had trouble with priming and that was after a 3-hour power outage and everything was a mess!
 
I just got mine up and running last nite. bought it on ebay, haveing problems finding an impeller, but it works fine on my 30 gal. just need to have spare parts on hand, and tha is the only problem I have with it.
 
I have 2 Magnum 350's and a Magnum 220. Obviously i recommend the 350 over the 220, but if you have a smaller tank where the 220 would work and can get it for a good price, go for it.

Even if you upgrade one day to a different filter, just purchase the micron sleeve and use it as a water polisher. That's what I do, it's great.
