Anybody who owns a magnum 350 use these quick disconnecting valves. The reason I ask is because taking apart these filters for cleaning take a long time for me to do. That is why I need the disconnecting valves so that I can remove the canister without the hose and intake and outlet tube attached to it. Also is there any diffrence between the single disconnecting valves and the double disconnecting valves because there sure is a big diffrence in price at my lfs.

I have them and they are great for cleaning time. As you said they are hard to take apart and it is so much easier to do when the hoses are not there to get in the way and you have room to manuver. I have the individual disconnects that have a valve on both pieces. I assume that the doubles are both hoses in one unit.

Which one do you have? Does the valves leak any water when you disconnect it?

Ok I have the double. It spills about a table spoon, the amount of water that sits between the two valves. If you use the single one you would put the valves on the tank side, and you risk spilling what is in the filter. I would spent the couple of extra bucks and get the double.

I've got doubles on both Magnum 350's servicing my big tank. This makes filter cleanings orders of magnitude easier. They are well, well worth the investment. I won't go back to the old way of doing it, that's for sure.
