making a hose adapter for your sink

Yeah, i wish id never spent the money n a python, i could have easily made one myself, the little plastic drain/fill thinkg broke on me so now i just drain it out my window and hook the tube directly to the sink to fill

Good DIY! I rarely use the python venturi fitting for emptying tanks, I just drain to the nearest window/door/bathtub. And refill from the sink.

Nice Job, you'll like that. If the first adapter was to garden hose...why did you need the second one...or did I miss something?

I got an adapter to match the shower head hose....1/2" MIP to garden hose. Disconnect the handheld spray bit and connect up the hose to the hose. Or with a regular showerhead, you need a 1/2" FIP thread (female) to garden hose.

We did this 11 years ago long before I had heard of a python. The only thing that I did different is that I used a quick disconnect. The one part stays on the sink instead of the strainer part and the other stays on the hose. I drain the tank into the sink and then connect it up to the sink to fill it.

what about dechlorinating? do you just add the untreated water to the tank with fish then add dechlorinator? Does it cause any problems for the fish being exposed to chlorinated water?
