Dont know if this has been discussed before but I am thinking of making a background made of java moss.

I figured the easiest way to do this would be to tie it onto some type of plastic screen or mesh then just clip it onto the back of the tank. This would also make it real easy to trim and clean it when necessary.

What kind of material should i look at for this?

eggcrate? the paper stuff that holds the eggs or the "foam" based one?

oh cool. where can i get that stuff?

nice thank you.

Has anyone done this at all? I could see it looking real nice but i think it would be a pain around the filter intake tube and heater.

I've tried this method w/ cross-stitch-plastic-stuff (as you can tell i do a lot of cross-stitching), but i put some java moss on it and attached it w/ cotton thread and i never could get it to start growing out...i think that in their pic of beautiful moss wall is actually christmas tree moss...which is a bit different from java moss...i tried for about 6 mths and my java moss was actually dieing (yes i have killed some java moss, but I have plenty that hasnt also) so i gave up and threw out the plastic stuff and the dead java moss
