making blue moon lights

Here is an excellent link for DIY moonlights. It shows you the best LED's to buy to reproduce natural moonlight colour.

If you are less DIY-adept, a simple blue rope light (the kind you see around xmas) affixed around the inside top of a canopy has been shown to work. It is a little brighter than LEDs I imagine, but I'm sure you could work around it.

EDIT: Of course, this works best the larger the tank is....

I bought a set (6) of those LED lights some people use to light up the underside of their cars. Sorry, I dont know the official term for them.

Most auto supply stores carry them. About $14.

Over the years I've kept the power adapters that are used with telephones, cd players, radios, etc. Had one that was 12v.

You can also buy these power adapters at places like Walmart that have a range of voltages.
