Are there any products that would allow me to effectively seal off an object so that it would be safe in an aquarium? My other hobby (or at least one of them) is painting miniatures, and I was thinking that it might be interesting to put something in my aquarium to provide some hiding space. I'm fairly certain that the combination of spray paint, floor-wax, and acrylic paint would be mildly toxic to just about anything that wasn't already dead. Short of burying everything in huge gobs of silicone, which would kindof defeat the point, are there any solutions?

There are some varnishes that are safe for aquarium use. Do a search on bamboo treatments for tanks as bamboo should also be treated before immersion in an aquarium.
