OK so I think i have 3 male gouramis (2 dwarf blue and 1 fire). They keep changing color and chasing each other which I'm assuming they are doing because of mating. I am assuming I should get a female but does it have to be a certain kind of gourami..like what I already have? Should I get more than 1? I only have them in a 15g until I get my 55 in a month or so. If I get a female what are the odds that she will have babies cuz I really don't want any more fish right now....thx

The color changes are most likely due to aggression and stress. The breeders here can correct me, but I think you have to have a female present to stimulate breeding behavior. More space and higher numbers will spread out aggression..but maybe someone else can add specific info about numbers of males and females.

ok so I went and bought a female fire yesterday and already there is a bubble nest (i think) at the top of the tank.....what are the breeding procedures for gouramis...do they eat their own or will i have a bunch of fish to take care of?
