Male or Female Betta?

i just got my betta he looksss so healthy, my LFS just got a shipment today! It is a Red Pigment Betta, i was wondering if he is a boy or a girl? how do i tell

this is what he looks like!!


PS. i was just curious so i tested the water came in and i am speechless!!

The ammonia was atleast 8.0 thats how high my ammonia tests for so idk

Females also have a lighter color spot right in there cheek, gill? Sometime males don't grow long fins, so always look for the little light bump.

i dont see anything like that...he is allll red with some light sparkles when the light is on..he is so happy with his 5 gallons all to himself!!!!!!!

also can i put a small amount of salt in there just as a precaution for a any sicknesses?
