My mandarin goby had a little shred on his tail a couple days ago so I thought maybe he scraped it or someone nipped it and thought nothing of it...then yesterday there is a chunk missing and I am like whaaat! But I never see anyone after him or anything and then today about half of it is missing...could it be rotting away? I don't get what is going on...

What else is in the tank, fish-wise? Unless you are watching the tank 24/7, its possible another fish is beating it up and you just aren't seeing it.

No I gave my anemones to the LFS. I have a couple clowns, blue tang, kole tang, blue spot puffer, green wrasse and flame...I have a feeling its the pink spotted goby...he is always trying to pretend like hes gonna bite the tangs' tails when they pass him...he tries to eat ANYTHING...fatass.

my bet would be the wrasse or the blue spot puffer.... puffers have teeth a little nip could very easily do that..

Ya...the wrasse used to chase him around ever since my psuedo died because there was nobody left to fight with him but then it stopped...ever since I started feeding krill the puffer gets temptations to go after my shrimps but then is put in his place by the wrasse...he is the regulator of the tank I guess...but the wrasse has not bugged him in forever...what would he have against the mandarin?

id say incompatible fish species.

how big is said tank? like 100gallons+?
