there is 4 or 5 specice of mangrove tree
red mangrove tree has a long type seed its the largest one and it has long type leaves
white mangrove has a small seed small leaves and puts up arial root to stick past the water or mud
the black mangrove is the hardest one to find it will most like be the only tree that in the middle of the river and un accessable with out a boat
the orange mangrove tree is similar to the red mangrove
the amount of mangroves to use is about one tree per 25 gallons of tank if you use 2 trees you will make your protine skimmer nere on redundant in that size tank
i find in my tank when i have mangrove plants in the sump.. the protine skimmer just about stops when i take them out it starts again ..
a plant seems to soak up nitrate phospate silicates if any and protines rather fast..
one thing i have notised is they can grow rather fast you want to keep them small about a foot tall is fine and remove any leaves that fall off into the tank
as an experiment i dint prune any leaves or roots to keep it small now i have a tree almost 8 feet tall and seeding for the first time lol
i have started some new seed there quite happy being trimed just prune off the old leaves not the new ones ...
if your interesed in mangrove seeds look for red mangrove black mangrove or white mangrove seeds in your own ****ry as you cant send them through qurintein
