i was talking in a few threads about mantis shrimp and the sound they make and have now became paranoid....lol. there isnt any way a mantis shrimp could be in a system that hasnt had any unexplained deaths in over 2 years right? i know i had a pistol shrimp in there and thats probably the clicking sound i hear at night since its faster than the clicking the mantis makes at my work. any way just needed some reassurance here.

I heard mantis shrimp can crack the glass in a glass aquarium.

Almost all shrimp make a clicking noise ( we just can't hear them all). Even the white and brown shrimp, table shrimp, will make a clicking noise when disturbed. As 5xevy said you would most likely know it if you had a mantis. They are destructive little critters!
I was raised on a shrimp boat and have dealt with many types shrimp. (now we are on a subjuct that I actually know some thing about.)
