i dont see the evaporation of a little water such a big deal if i did i sure wouldnt be running wet dry filters on all my tanks, just add a little water to your tank if it needs it pretty simple.

Great and very helpful information . . . thanks to all. I have a 46 gal. fw with Penguin 350/biowheel and was thinking of augmenting with the HOT magnum canister w/o biowheel. You helped me decide. Thanks a bunch.
